5 tips for creating clean & simple blue cards:

  1. Pick a Monochromatic Palette – Stick to shades of blue with varying tones—think Night of Navy, Pool Party, or Azure Afternoon. A monochromatic look keeps things cohesive and calming while adding depth.
  2. Embrace White Space – Leave areas of your card clean and uncluttered. The contrast of blue against crisp white or vanilla adds instant elegance and ensures your design doesn’t feel overcrowded.
  3. Use Textures and Layers – Add interest with subtle textures like dry embossing, stitched dies, or layering different shades of blue cardstock. These details add dimension without overwhelming the clean look.
  4. Incorporate Simple Sentiments – Choose bold but minimal fonts for sentiments. Heat embossing in white or silver on a blue background keeps the design sleek and stunning.
  5. Add Subtle Embellishments – Less is more! Try using a few rhinestones, enamel dots, or a touch of shimmer for a pop of elegance without distracting from the simplicity of your card.

  2. Hi Mary! Your cards are beautiful! My favorite is the Foxy Countryside thank you card. I enjoy using designer series paper and this card not only showcases it, but also has the restful blue card stock layers. So pretty with the narrow banner and the coordinating dots! Your cards always looks so elegant and your instructions make them easy to create. Thank you for your inspiration!
