4 tips for creating bright & beautiful handmade cards
1. Choose a Vibrant Color Palette
- Pick 2-3 bold, complementary colors for your base and accents. Stampin’ Up color families, like Brights or Subtles, are great for vibrant combinations.
- Use a neutral (like Basic White or Basic Black) to make the bright colors pop.
2. Incorporate Layering
- Use layers of cardstock and patterned paper (like Designer Series Paper) to create depth and visual interest.
- Add dimension with foam adhesive or embellishments like rhinestones or enamel dots for extra flair.
3. Play with Patterns and Textures
- Use embossing folders or patterned stamps to create texture.
- Combine bold patterns with simple ones to avoid overwhelming the design while keeping it lively.
4. Feature a Bold Focal Point
- Highlight a stamped image, die-cut, or sentiment using bright ink or paper.
- Frame the focal point with layers or shapes, like circles or stitched rectangles, for a polished look.
