card tutorial: simple z-fold card
1. measure & cut
fun fold card base:
- Blackberry Bliss cardstock: 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2
snipped envelope flap:
- Splendid Autumn DSP: 5 3/4 x 2 1/2
layers:
- Basic White layers: 2 1/2 x 4 (qty 2), 5 1/4 x 4
- Basic White die-cuts: 3 1/2 x 2 1/2, 3 1/8 x 2 1/8 cut from one 3 3/4 x 5 3/4 layer
- Fresh Freesia layers: 2 1/4 x 3 3/4 (qty 2), 5 x 3 3/4
- Splendid Autumn DSP layers: 4 3/4 x 3 1/2 (qty 2), then cut one layer down to two 2 x 3 1/2 pieces TIP: this keeps the design the same, important for the layout.
- Splendid Autumn DSP sentiment die-cut: 3 1/8 x 2 1/8
2. stamp:
- Use a Mini MISTI stamp tool to stamp the sentiment (Autumn Expressions stamp set) in Versamark Classic Ink (twice) onto the center of the Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper layer.
3. crop:
- Crop the Basic White and Designer Series Paper layers with a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (Standard the Autumn Expressions die-cut) TIP: The sentiment should be cut from the slightly smaller side of the die-cut.
- Use Paper Snips to separate remove the tabs from Basic White die-cut.
4. assemble & adhere:
- Burnish the folds of the card base with a Bone Folder. Start with the 5 1/2 fold like a regular card base, then the z-fold will fold the opposite direction.
- Adhere all layers together and to the card base as shown with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
- Adhere the Basic White die-cut to the inside of the card, so its hidden when the z-fold is closed.
- Adhere the sentiment die-cut to the snipped frame with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
- Wrap the z-fold with 26-28″ of Blackberry Bliss & Gold 1/2″ Textured Ribbon, securing with a bow on the right side.
- Adhere the sentiment, on the lest side only, with Stampin’ Dimensionals
5. embellish:
- Embellish with three Iridescent Foil Gems.
6. envelope:
- Adhere the 5 3/4 x 2 1/2 Designer Series Paper to a Basic White Medium envelope flap with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Flip to the inside of the flap and carefully snip away the excess with Paper Snips.
