Let’s continue our journey toward better craft organization by revisiting My Stamping Studio “command center.” Last week, we discussed my neat & tidy ribbon & twine. This week, I’m sharing my simple methods for organizing embellishments.

how i organize my stamping studio

I use three of the drawers in my multi-drawer cabinet (three 1 1/8″ singles) with a single compartment drawer cabinet accessory tray.

STAMP-n-STORAGE DRAWER CABINETS. The 1 1/8″ high single drawer holds lots of embellishments.

I label each drawer with the Stamp-n-Storage Label Holders and using my P-Touch Cube Plus Labeler.

STAMP-n-STORAGE DRAWER CABINET SINGLE TRAYS. Stamp-n-Storage offers many compartment configurations for the drawer cabinet full and half trays. I chose a single compartment drawer cabinet accessory trays.

I transfer and adhere the embellishment sheets to a 4 x 6 card and insert them in these handy Avery 4×6 Vinyl Envelopes. The envelopes protect the embellishments and catch any lose gems. TIP: The 4 x 6 cards are “repurposed” from the Designer Series Paper “card board” insert that I used to throw away.

I label each pocket (P-Touch Cube Plus Labeler) with the name of the embellishment and colors for easy coordination. The labels are easy to remove and pockets get reused.

Your organization is wonderful.
My only question is what do you do with retired SU stuff like punches, stamp sets, etc?
Hi Denise,
I do not hold onto retired products so I do not have a need to store them. What type of punches and stamp sets are you looking to store? Whale Tail punches and Wood Mount Stamp Sets?
I just received my draw cabinet and I’m having problems adhering the label holder to the drawer. It just doesn’t seem to be sticking. I have the natural wood cabinet. Do you have any “tricks of the trade” I can be using?
Thanks
Hi Denise,
Be sure to press firmly from side to side once it’s in place. I haven’t needed to but you could add a little extra additional adhesive for staying power, such as tear-n-tape. If you continue to have problems, I recommend reaching out directly to Stamp-n-Storage to see if they can assist you further. Good Luck! Mary
Mary,
I love all your organization! One question I have is about the large white “book shelf” unit that all of the smaller organizers fit into so perfectly. Is that a custom build?
The white bookshelves in my “command center” were removed from our basement (which is now “conquered” by my husband, Scott’s, pool table) and repurposed in my craft room…a small, 2nd floor bedroom with oodles of natural light. I was so excited that my Stamp-n-Storage units fit.
Stamp-N-Storage makes several items specific to the Ikea Kallax Units, so if you are looking for shelving at a reasonable price, that may be the way to go.
How do you sort / store your paper scraps?
Hi Sharon,
I store scraps in Paper Sleeves. You can read all about it here: My Stamping Studio: Perfecting Your Paper Storage
Hope that helps! Mary!
Hello!
I’m interested in how you store your embossing folders.
Thanks
STAMP-n-STORAGE CRATE DIVIDERS. Stamp-n-Storage offers large, crate dividers (teal only) that fit in the Create Crate and I use to separate my dies from embossing folders. I’m only using two (“dies” and “embossing folders”) but could use more to organize the dies by things like borders, words and shapes.
