As promised in my Saturday post, my card for today was created using the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder, the runner-up in my latest Stampin’ Pretty Poll. The poll is now closed. Almost 1400 votes were cast and Brick & Mortar lost by a mere TWO votes to the winner, Magnolia embossing folder. I decided both needed time to shine! You can see my Magnolia embossing folder project and post here.
I just adore the way this embossing folder makes the brick pieces pop up at different heights! It really catches the eye! The Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing folder is also part of My Favorite Things from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog! You can see all My Favorite Things on my blog page here.
STAMPIN’ PRETTY STEP-BY-STEP TUTORIAL:
Begin with a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card base of Early Espresso card stock.
Cut another piece of Early Espresso card stock to 5 x 4 1/4. Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Zip a piece of Crumb Cake card stock through a die-cutting machine tucked inside the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. Crop with the 4 3/4 x 3 3/8 Stitched Rectangle Die. Adhere to the card with Snail Adhesive.
Use the Stamparatus to stamp the barn door & sentiment (Barn Door Stamp Set) in Early Espresso Ink onto Cherry Cobbler & Crumb Cake card stock. Crop with a die-cutting machine and the coordinating dies from the Sliding Door Dies set. Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Crop the hardware (rail, rollers & door handle) using Early Espresso card stock, a die-cutting machine and the dies from Sliding Door. Connect the rollers to the door with small Silver Metallic Brads that have been colored with a Dark Basic Black and Bronze Stampin’ Blend. Adhere the door handle and the rail as shown with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Tie a bow of Linen Thread and adhere to the top of the sign with a Mini Glue Dot that has been rolled and hidden behind the knot.
3D EMBOSSING FOLDER SANDWICH: For best results, use the 3D Embossing Folder Plate with all of Stampin’ Up!’s 3D Embossing Folders RELEASED AFTER JUNE 4, 2019. Download the recommended “sandwich” flyer I created for quick reference here.
Dynamic Embossing Folders (purchased before June 4, 2019) will use the following sandwich:
Standard Cutting Pad (Top)
Dynamic Embossing Folder (Middle)
Platform Base (Bottom)
Newly Released 3D Embossing Folders (purchased after June 3, 2019) will use the following sandwich:
3D Embossing Folder Plate (Top)
3D Embossing Folder (Middle)
Platform Base (Bottom)
‘or’
Standard Cutting Plate & Shims (cardstock, etc) (Top)
3D Embossing Folder (Middle)
Platform Base (Bottom)
The new plate makes up the difference in measurement between our old-style Dynamic Folders and our new-style 3D Folders in 21 mm gap machines (similar to the machine we used to offer). The 3D Embossing Folder Plate replaces the Standard Cutting Pads in your 3D embossing folder sandwich for continued high-quality emboss results.

This is such an amazing card! So creative!
Sheeesh!! Mary, this was a very close race, both embossing folders are as beautiful as they are different.
The Brick Mortar is just the perfect background for this adorable barn door, love it!!!
Thank you for sharing.
XO
That barn door is really cool!!
Ooooh , love that red farm door with that brick barn ?
Tfs hugs frenchie ♥️
Fantastic looking card my friend……And I love the embossing background.
I love this card! Refreshing change from “regular” barn door. Probably just me, but I think the stitching on the brick looks kind of weird. Thanks for including this card with the Magnolia one!
