3 Ways to Add “Joy” to Holiday Gift Tags

Stampin Up Holiday Gift Tags Your Presents by Mary Fish Pinterest

‘Tis the season to create holiday gift tags!  I have very simple samples today for those of you that are pressed for time (possibly all of us) and still want a little WOW! on your gifts.

Which tag is your favorite?  Please leave a comment HERE.

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • My stamp images are from the Stampin’ Up! Your Presents stamp set.  So many possibilities and so much fun.  This set is on the Holiday Catalog Retiring Product List and only available while supplies last.

  • With solid stamps (like the circles), I put a piercing mat (Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Pierce Mat) below my stamping surface for a little bit of cushion.  This cushioning improves ink coverage for both red rubber and photopolymer (clear) stamps.

  • I cropped the holiday gift tag top with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and bottom with the Banner Triple Punch (2″ width).

  • The perfect touch!  The Home for Christmas Enamel Dots add a glossy accent with “stick on” ease.  The enamel dots are on the Holiday Catalog Retiring Product List and only available while supplies last.

  • I added Baker’s Twine (a different color for each) to the top of the holiday gift tags.  I’ll share a 1 Minute to WOW! Video Tutorial tomorrow demonstrating how easy it is to loop the twine (works for ribbon, too) for a clean look.

I love hearing from you!  Please leave me your questions or comments about the project for today.

  1. These are so simple yet so stunning!! I’m definitely going to make some of these. Thanks for your wonderful blog and great ideas!!

    • Good question, Dorothy. There’s no set rule and they aren’t all exactly the same. The white tag started as approx. 2″ wide (just a smidge under) by 4″ long and is cropped at the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. The back tags started at approx. 2″ x 4 3/4″ and were cropped on both ends (Scalloped Tag Topper Punch on top and Banner Triple Punch on the bottom). You lose about 1/4″ in length from where you start when using both those punches.

  2. It’s funny. The tag with the trees was the first one I made and played around with the most. The other two came easily and appear to be more popular!

  3. I love the dots, the package is really cute, the trees are adorable. OK I like them all.

  4. My favorite is the red and white stripe package. Mary, all of your projects are very unique and done to perfection. You’re a quite a talented lady. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Wow! So hard to choose….all are great! If I HAD to pick just one……….I love the first one with the red and white striped present! Happy Holidays!

    • That’s Cherry Cobbler, Connie . . . but I inked it pretty heavily to get good covereage 🙂

  6. I like the green one in the center. Those big dots remind me of Christmas ornaments. Really cool idea!

    • There’s a little stamp in the Your Presents set that transforms the circles into ornaments. You’re on the right track, Sherry!

  7. A favorite, really? They are all so simply pretty. I especially like the solid cardstock banner underneath. Love your style Mary!

    • Thanks, Tracy. I debated on adding texture to the solid card stock. I think that would look cool, too!

  8. Mary I love these tags. Like all of us I had great ideas and no time. I will be making these for my gifts. Thanks so much. Love your ideas. Bonnie

  9. Mary your card is so pretty. I like the middle tag.. Gave a great day.Ellen Hinds

  10. I really like all of your tags! I love the stamps to the side rather just in the middle. Great colors!

  11. All are so cute but I think the little cherry cobbler present one maybe my choice. I think these would look pretty cool on white notecards for a fun card. I think I just might have to try it with scraps of papers and a different stamp since I don’t have that set. Love the pops of colors! Eagerly awaiting your WOW video!

  12. These are super cute! I am a sucker for anything with polka dots so that one is my favorite. Love the clean and simple tags- thanks for sharing!!

  13. The circles are my favorite with the striped package second. Thanks for sharing your creativity! I truly appreciate it.

  14. These are all so great, Mary. Thanks for sharing a quick and easy way to make a really big impact on so many types of gifts. As well as wrapped presents, I can see them attached to a wine bottle, basket of goodies, and even an envelope, when the gift is something inside a card. I love them all!

  15. I am a “red” person, so I was naturally drawn to that one, however they were awesome, love the quick and easy designs. TFS!!!!!

  16. Thanks for your comments (and “votes”). The circle one was was the last one I made and a bit of a whim. My personal favorite is the Christmas package (Cherry Cobbler).

  17. I love the circles. It’s fun seeing what you come up with each day. I love how clean and simple your designs are.

  18. They are all so, so cute!!! And they look so easy and quick to make….I have visions of other designs dancing in my head. :o) Thank you for the inspiration!!!

  19. Love all three tags, what a beautiful, easy and fun way to create a sweet little gift for teachers, the mail lady, your hear dresser, making a set of these tags to give for Christmas.
    Thank you for sharing Mary.

  20. BIG BIG FAN of tags……And think you KNOCKED these three out of the park. OH SO CUTE!

  21. They are all so cute! My favorite would be the one with circles. Love how versitile this could be.
