Stampin up stampinup pretty order online lacy and lovely masculine card idea circle punch
Crisp, masculine and on it’s way to my 30-something nephew!  My starting point?  This week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (MOJO288).

I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR!  I enjoy reading your comments so much.  If you have a moment, please leave me a quick comment at the end of this post about today’s project and Mojo Monday design.

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • When starting with a sketch, feel free to use a little “artistic discretion.”  I played with the sizes and layering of the banners.

  • The sentiment was moved within one of the banners, with the assistance of the Stampin’ Up! Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and coordinating “Happy Birthday” from Itty Bitty Banners stamp set.
  • Punch it up!  I love the look of Tangerine Tango Embossing Powder against Night of Navy card stock.

  1. I love the use of the doily stamp with the embossing powder. It really makes the card pop!!

  2. I like how you think outside the box. I would not have equated the Lacy & Lovely set to a masculine card, but with the bold color contrast, it totally works! Great job, Mary.

  3. Mary, would never have thought of using this great combination of colors. Glad you’ve chosen a masculine card! I’m always wondering what to do when I have to make a card for male friends and family members! I love the “clean cut” look. Thanks once again!

  4. WOW – what an amazing card. It really has punch – I love it. It took me a bit to work out that it was embossed straight onto the NoN – very effective. Thanks for sharing your amazing talent with the world.

  5. As always, an inspiration. You are the Queen when it comes to masculine cards, Mary! I love your color combo this time…rich, masuline, yet bright! Thanks for sharing.

  6. Mary,
Love the card, especially the embossing and color choices.
I’m wondering what it would look like with something more masculine in the center? I keep looking at it thinking the small shiny brad just doesn’t do it justice but can’t think of what else would work?
Something rugged or would that clash with the embossing?
I may have too much time on my hands today if I’m doing all this thinking! LOL

    Thanks for sharing, Brenda

  7. Your cards make me want to buy every stamp set you use. I’ve looked at this set sooooo many times and only now will I really consider buying. Is it the colors or what? Just a really cool card. Thanks!

  8. Thanks for this wonderful feedback. i like orange (or shades of orange) with just about any blue (light to navy). it’s amazing how true to color the tangerine tango embossing remains on the navy!

  9. Mary you never disappoint! I’m always blown away with your creativity. The card is Crisp and Zippy! Just love it. I always look forward to seeing your MoJo Monday cards.
