card tutorial: simple yet stunning birthday card
1. measure & cut
portrait card base:
- Pretty Peacock Cardstock: 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2
snipped envelope flap:
- Frames & Flowers Designer Series Paper: 5 3/4 x 2 1/2
layers (from bottom to top):
- Copper Clay Cardstock: 4 x 5 1/4
- Frames & Flowers Designer Series Paper: Die-Cut Card Front
- Lost Lagoon Cardstock: 3 x 2 1/4 (before punching)
- Pretty Peacock Cardstock (sentiment): 3 x 1 (before punching)
2. stamp:
- Place Masking Paper or Post-it Note Tape over the “Now Back to Me” words of the sentiment. Stamp in Versamark, then remove the cover.
- Use a Mini MISTI stamp tool to position and stamp the sentiment (One More Year stamp set) onto the center of the Pretty Peacock Cardstock layer. Cover with white Basics WOW! Embossing Powder. Set with a Heat Tool.
3. crop:
- Crop the Lost Lagoon Cardstock layer with the Heartfelt Hexagon punch.
- Crop the ends of sentiment with the Happy Labels Pick a Punch.
4. assemble & adhere:
- Adhere the Designer Series Paper die-cut to the Copper Clay layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Double wrap with white Baker’s Twine Essentials, securing with a bow as shown. Adhere to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Adhere both punched pieces together and to the card as shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
5. embellish:
- Add 7 Petal Pink Low-Profile Dots as shown.
6. envelope:
- Adhere the 5 3/4 x 2 1/2 Designer Series Paper to a Basic White Medium envelope flap with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. TIP: Add Glue to the flap, not the Designer Series Paper.
