Crisp & Modern Detailed Birthday Edgelits Card

I adore how the white gifts created with the Detailed Birthday Edgelits Dies pop over Basic Black card stock.  Crisp and modern!  Unfortunately, the Detailed Birthday Edgelits Dies did not carry over to the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog and have sold out.  The Stampin’ Up! Birthday Cheer stamp set used in the interior is available but will be retiring as of June 4 (or while supplies last).  The Stampin’ Up! 2019-2020 Annual Catalog begins June 4.

GET YOUR RETIRING FAVORITES:  AVAILABLE THRU JUNE 3 OR WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!  Get the list of Stampin’ Up! retiring products and product updates here.

STAMPIN’ PRETTY STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL:

Create a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base with Thick Whisper White card stock and the Stampin’ Trimmer.  Adhere a 3 3/4 x 5 piece of Basic Black card stock.

Crop the gifts using a die from Detailed Birthday Edgelits Dies and a die cutting machine.  Trim to approximately 4 1/8″ wide and 2 1/2″ tall from the bottom to the top of the tallest gift.

How Sweet It Is – Images © Stampin’ Up!

Adhere a 3 3/4 x 1 1/4 Coastal Cabana polka dot pattern from How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper below the gift die cut..  Adhere the layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals and Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  TIP:  I snipped a few of the dimensionals so that they would be hidden below some of the narrower, detailed pieces.

Crop “birthday” using Basic Black card stock,  Well Written Framelits Dies and a die cutting machine.  Adhere with bits of Snail Adhesive or Fine Tip Glue.  TIP:  Don’t forget to include the little dot for the “i.”

Add six Coastal Cabana Glitter Dots for splash and personality.

Using the Stamparatus stamp positioning tool and Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, stamp the “It’s All About You!” sentiment on Whisper White card stock.  Crop with the flagged end die from Bunch of Banners and a die cutting machine.  Snip left side with Paper Snips.  Adhere to card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the Stamparatus, stamp the interior of the card with the sentiment from Birthday Cheer Cling stamp set and Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

For a pretty presentation, dress up the outside envelope flap of a Stampin’ Up! Whisper White Medium Envelope using the matching How Sweet It Is polka dot pattern.  To crop this piece, I used the envelope liner die from Beautiful Layers Thinlits Dies (finished height of approximately 1 7/8″), a die cutting machine and adhered it to the outside flap with Snail Adhesive.

  5. Oh Mary, love the amazing contrast of the white gifts against the black background and the pop of soft color from the DSP is just delightful.
And what a fabulous way to display your sentiment and the perfectly placed enamel dots.

  6. What a fun card, Mary. Love the colors and the placement of the inside sentiment. The “dressed up” envelope flap is clever that it does not cover the entire flap and it’s easy using the die. Enjoy your day!

  7. Thanks, BK. Coastal Cabana is a “go to” blue for me. Looks good with so many colors. I often use a hole punch and card stock to mimic the glitter dots. That allows me to play around with placement before adhering the dots!

  8. Love this bold mix of Coastal Cabana, Basic Black and Whisper White! Such a wonderful celebration and a great showcase of the Well Written Dies, too. Love the strategically placed enamel dots.
