Beautiful Peacock with Bermuda Bay Bling!

Stampin Up Beautiful Peacock Friend Cards Idea - Mary Fish StampinUp

I became an instant fan when I first saw the Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Peacock Photopolymer Stamp Set in the Sale-A-Bration promotion brochure.  The peacock is trendy and fun.  However, it’s the flourishes that open the door for fabulous stamped layers (with or without the peacock).

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

Heat embossing with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black Card Stock really pops!

The “beautiful friend” sentiment (Beautiful Peacock Photopolymer Stamp Set) was cropped with a 1″ Circle Punch and layered over the sweet Bermuda Bay scallop circle created with the 1 1/8″ Scallop Circle Punch (new in the Occasions Catalog).

Bermuda Bling!  How do you like those perfectly coordinated Bermuda Bay rhinestones?  I used the Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blends Marker to color Stampin’ Up! Rhinestone Basic Jewels.  Works like a charm and dries quickly!

Stampin’ Up! Whisper White Note Cards and Envelopes are my “go to” for quick cards.  The 20 5″ x 3 1/2″ cards are cut, scored and ready to pop in the perfectly sized note card envelopes (20).

I added a charming polka dot pattern from Petal Passion Designer Series Paper to the envelope flap.  Simply adhere to the flap and snip the excess away with Paper Snips.

Here’s a card I created and shared previously which uses the Beautiful Peacock Photopolymer Stamp Set.

  1. I loved the white peacock on the black background and was inspired to try it. However, when I used my embossing buddy to ensure the powder went only where I wanted, it left whitish streaks on my black paper. So I changed color schemes and did a similar one with pool party and perfect plum. I had similar color paper, so layered plum & then a darker shade similar to pool party on white card, and stamped & embossed the peacock and flourishes on white card, which is the top layer. Perfect for my daughter & husband’s 6th anniversary. Thanks!!!

    • Hi Dawn: I get the same residue on black card stock but continue wiping with a soft (lint free) cloth. It should remove the streaks.

Pool Party and Perfect Plum sound gorgeous and what a lovely anniversary card!

      Hugs, Mary

    • That warms my heart, Angel. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment about my peacock card!

    • So nice to hear, Barbara. I can’t wait to try other colors with the rhinestones and Stampin’ Blends markers!

  2. I love your card! It’s gorgeous! This is the best card I have seen with this stamp set.

  3. Gorgeous card, no one does classic black and white with a pop of color quite like you. It’s never off the mark. This is stunning.

    • Thanks, Robbye . . . black and white is always classic. Frankly, I just realized my card for tomorrow is predominantly black and white!

  4. This card you made today is the most beautiful use of that peacock stamp set that I’ve seen. I’m always watching for beautiful peacock stamps as I love them and used to own some. I saw the stamp set in the book and I just wasn’t too excited. The way you did the peacock today is WOW! I can’t think of the right words for how beautiful you made that peacock. Outstanding!!!

    • Oh, Susan. That is so fabulous to hear. I’m thrilled you enjoyed my take on the peacock!

    • Thanks for stopping by, Barb! Glad you are enjoying the stamp set – it’s especially fun that you can earn it FREE during Sale-A-Bration.

    • Thanks, Donna. It’s a little tricky to see the versamark for placement. I occasionally tipped the stamped areas toward the light so I could “see” better! All areas of the peacock (flourishes and flowers, too) were stamped at once and then embossed.

  5. Stunning! A few years ago a friend asked me to do a card with a peacock theme. I sure wish I had this set then!

    • Thanks, Karren. I like the modern style of this peacock. The photos were a challenge to take because I needed reflection to show how pretty the blue rhinestones are!

  6. Beautiful card. I just got the peacock set and I am loving all the ideas. Love the Bermuda Bay bling! Love the white embossed image. Love, love, love!

  7. Your white embossed peacock is PERFECT. I had to a do a double take when I first saw it……Thought…how did she do that (DUH!!!!! – Then I figured it out). Your embossing skills are SPOT-ON!!!!

    • It’s pretty easy to emboss and the contrast and shine really bring the peacock to life! Thanks, Kadie.

    • Thanks, Brian. I really like the white embossing on black. Gives it a whole new look from my previous card!

  8. Love this sweet card, Mary, with the beautiful peacock. Your card reminds me of being in Australia in November, there was a beautiful peacock roaming the grounds of our hotel and occasionally would display his beautiful plumage. So pretty. Have a great day!

  9. Mary I am always amazed that you can take even an ugly stamps set and make it beautiful

    • Thanks, Marianne. I was determined to give the peacock a new look. I think it would look really pretty on Night of Navy, too!
