I love the striking color mix of today’s card, especially the splashy Watermelon Wonder butterfly created with the Stampin’ Up! Bold Butterfly Framelits Dies!
These dies offer so much “flutter-licious” personality and even more potential when layered.
My design was inspired by this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (MOJO406).
STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:
- When I shared this video a few weeks ago, I promised to find a purpose for the negative space of the Greetings Thinlits Dies. That’s exactly what I did for “hello!”
- I adored almost every mix of patterns I tried using the Stampin’ Up! Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack (one of My Favorite Things).
- I settled on a rich floral pattern (gorgeous addition of Basic Black) for the background. Enjoy my free coordinating colors chart outlining the Stampin’ Up! colors used in currently available designer series paper. Please note: I used Watermelon Wonder (vs. Calypso Coral listed with Pretty Petals) because it looks great with the mix of coral pink in this pattern. It’s OK to go outside the box!
- One of the Metal Rimmed Pearls accents the Bold Butterfly center.
- The perfect presentation comes from adding a coordinating Basic Black polka dot (also Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack) to the envelope. It couldn’t be easier with the Stampin’ Up! Envelope Liners Framelits Dies and my Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.

Thanks so much, Kylie, from “across the pond!”
Great card Mary! Love the use of the negative of the greetings thinlits die. Looks great. The paper is really cute and happy.
your card is gorgeous!
Thanks for your sweet sentiment, Kelly!
Happy to help your smile grown, Donna!
A happy card indeed! Love it–so bright and cheerful. It really does put a smile on my face, although I was smiling already, my smile just got bigger! 🙂
This is such a sweet card, I love how it makes me feel happy… I need this today!
I enjoy your blog, thank you!
Thanks, Karen. It means a lot to hear the card added a little “happy” to your day!
Thanks, Frenchie. I didn’t realize until I was done that the listed coral pink color for Pretty Petals paper was Calypso Coral and not Watermelon Wonder. However, WW looked great so I learned I can go outside the box!
Ooooooooo, MsMary love love love it , I love flowers and butterflies, such beauty and love the colors you choose, Tfs,
Hugs Frenchie ,
“FLUTTER-LICIOUS” Masterpiece my friend!
Flutter-Licious is right (although my auto-correct keeps turning it into “flutter-vicious”)!
Beautiful card, Mary. I love all the elements and how you used the negative of hello.
I appreciate your feedback, HJ. Really motivates me to make new things!
Thanks,, Cheryl. The addition of the black with the floral is really striking!

Thank you, Maria. The Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack is my personal favorite from the catalog. Gorgeous colors and very “card friendly” patterns.
