Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Words Just for You

stampin up watercolor words thank you card idea mary fish stampin pretty blog pinterest

The fabulous “just for you” sentiment and flower image from Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Words have been dipped in gold!  I love the look of the images embossed in gold, especially the flowers on the Bermuda Bay card stock!

Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge PPA260

I used this week’s Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge (PPA260) for my design inspiration. Check out what the rest of the PPA Resident Artists have created with this sketch and play along here!

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • I used Stampin’ Up! Gold 5/8″ Satin Ribbon for the luscious bow.   Watch my 1 Minute to WOW! Video Tutorial “Tie a Pretty Bow” here!

  • A quick “go to” punch.  I keep my Stampin’ Up 2 1/2″ Circle Punch handy for large sentiments.

  • HOT TIP!  When heat embossing, allow the Heat Tool a few seconds to heat up before setting the Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  When hot, it immediately goes to work embossing vs. blowing a few flecks off course while still cool (like a fan).

  1. Mary, the card that is on the PPA challenge blog does not give this card credit! I guess it is the angle (however, when I pinned this card, I chose the angle that I liked, LOL). I have really not been interested in this set but this may be the card that has enabled the purchase! Just LOVE the gold tones and the gold ribbon flower is FABULOUS! Can you tell I love this card!!!

  2. Love the color combination, especially with that ribbon! That beautiful gold puts it “over the top”! Diane

  3. Thank you Mary for your tutorial, it looks a lot like a big part of it is to keep the ribbons straight as you go. Thank you for sharing these tips!

  4. Gosh Mary, your card is stunning, the gold embossed flowers look amazing with that lovely Bermuda Bay panel. And you are so right, the gold satin ribbon gives any card a lovely touch of elegance.
    Thank you for sharing.

  5. Thanks, Patti. I think it would look equally interesting with silver embossing!

  6. Awwww, MsMary what a beautiful card , so neat looking , love the gold embossing with the gold ribbon , Tfs,
    Hugs Frenchie ,

  7. Excellent question, Mary Ellen. I used the Thick Whisper White for the card base (it’s perfect for this) and the regular Whisper White for the sentiment circle.

  8. Such a beautiful card! On your supply list I noticed you used regular Whisper White and the new Thick Whisper White. Where did you use each of these? Thank you!

    • And while you are at it, Dan, try gold on Melon Mambo or Rich Razzleberry! Thanks.

    • Honestly, Carol, that Gold Satin Ribbon (or any of the Stampin’ Up! Satin Ribbon) makes every card look spectacular! Thanks!

  9. Thanks for the beautiful inspiration! I ordered this set and now can’t wait for it to arrive!

    • I’m confident you will be happy with the set, Betty. Beautiful sentiments and images whether inked up or embossed!

    • Thanks so much, Vicki. I has become one of my favorite stamp sets of the annual catalog!

    • I saw gold embossed on a color similar to Bermuda Bay at a stationery store and knew I could make my own. Thanks, jazzyjess.
