I’m Crushin’ on the Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set!

Create a simple get well card using Stampin Up Dandelion Wishes - Mary Fish StampinUp

The sentiments in the Dandelion Wishes stamp set have one of the prettiest fonts in the Stampin’ Up! 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.  Dandelion Wishes landed on the list of My Favorite Things from the catalog here.  Combining it with Crushed Curry, Basic Black and crisp Whisper White brings the simple style to life!

Stamp the dandelion trio (Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set) in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Crushed Curry card stock.  Crop the dandelion image using the largest straight square die (approx. 2 7/8″) from Layering Squares Framelits Dies, the Magnetic Platform and the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.  Layer and adhere to a Basic Black scalloped square created with the largest scalloped square die from Layering Squares Framelits dies and the Big Shot.

    • Thanks, Judith. It was loads of fun to create and could work in just about any color combination!

  1. I’m with you, Mary. Who doesn’t love dandelions? I brought them home to my Mom, and my kids did for me. And those little puffy white seeds? No one can resist blowing them away and seeing them fly. Although I haven’t purchased it yet, the minute I saw this set, I just knew it would make it here to Gilbert, AZ. My head is swimming with so many ideas, but your card is absolutely stunning! I love black with anything…and the brightness of the Crushed Curry and the white is perfect. Thanks for sharing it and for the PDF. Hugs

    • Thanks so much, Miss Bobbi. I remember picking dandelions for my mom and she would put them in a vase with water.

  2. I loved this set when I saw it, love your card too! Dandelions should be celebrated too because they are one of the first flowers in Spring for the honey bees we need to help out.

    • Interesting fact, Jennifer. I have always been nostalgic about dandelions and the fun of making a wish!

  3. Very pretty card, you always come up with the cutest designs. I look forward to see what you make with the new stamp sets.

Can the envelope liner die be used on other sizes of envelopes also. I thought is was only for the small note cards. I have been wanting an envelope liner die.

    • Thanks, Lora. The envelope liner die is designed to work with the Stampin’ Up! Medium Envelopes. I also shared in this video how it can be used to cover the outside flap of a note card size envelope. https://youtu.be/Tr0fW-YgbkA

  4. Love this! Last week Teddy and I walked past a store and there in the window was a pillow white or vanilla with black or brown spent dandelions blowing in the breeze just like this! I smiled and thought I would see how much the pillow was – wouldn’t it be fun (if cheap enough) to send it to someone with a card to match since I had spied it in the catalog! I decided that set is one of those “sleeper” sets in the catalog that people don’t really notice until some projects are made with it.

Maybe a big treat holder with a spray bottle of weed killer with a card with dandelions on it for your favorite gardener?

Whatever, this is one set I will buy and I just may have to use some of your elements for the card. It is so bright and fresh just like a daisy. Oh that is another set I need to give some attention to!

    • I adore your idea of creating a card inspired by a pillow! So custom and thoughful, Chris. R.

  5. Love the BOLD & CRISP look you created using only two colors on this card. NICELY DONE my friend!

    • Thanks, Kadie. I’m going to get plenty of mileage from this sweet stamp set.

  6. This stamp set really makes a great card. Love these colors and the scalloped edges with the different layers. Beautiful! Have a wonderful day, Mary.

    • I appreciate that so much, HJ. Crushed Curry always feels like sunshine to me!

    • Thanks, Brian. I fiddled quite a bit for the perfect placement of the sentiment. It finally said “mama” to me where it ultimately landed!

  7. Mary what a pretty card and envelope. The receiver will be so happy to receive this, you have five htrat talent and super ideas Ellen Hinds

    • Dear Mary I meant to say Mary you have such great talent. This card is so pretty. The receiver will receive so happy to receive this beautiful card and envelope. Hugs,Ellen Hinds

  8. How CUTE!!! I had looked at that set but wasn’t sure I would get much use out of it, but now I have changed my mind, it is on my list for my next order for sure. Thank you for sharing.

    • The font is pretty and the design adaptable for many occasions. I love the look of tone on tone stamping the dandelions as a background, Debbie.

    • Thanks, Bonnie. I love all the little scallops and crispness of Crushed Curry and black!

    • Thank you, Darlene. I think it would be beautiful in many colors (Pool Party, Highland Heather, Granny Apple Green, Petal Pink).

  9. Love this images on your beautiful card Mary, I think Dandelions are some of the prettiest “weeds” around, their puffy heads look so soft and cute and, when the seeds blow in the wind, they look like little Fairies, (maybe I’m being influenced by the Walt Disney’s “Fantasia” movie LOL!!).
Your design is just beautiful, love the colors and layout, another classic and elegant card, my dear.
    Thank you for sharing.
    XO
    Maria.

    • I remember making a wish and blowing the seeds as a child! I was so excited for Stampin’ Up! to offer this stamp set, Maria!

  10. HI Mary,
Dandelion Wishes is my most favourite set in the new catalogue.!!
I have envisioned many, many project options to look forward to creating but none as stunning as the design you presented to us today.
    It “blew me away”!!

    • Thank you, Marianne. I think the round shape of the sentiment mimics the flowers!
