STAMPIN’ PRETTY STEP-BY-STEP TUTORIAL:

Create a 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ card base using Thick Whisper White card stock and the Stampin’ Trimmer.  The trimmer cuts and scores.

Cut an Old Olive pattern from Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper to 5 1/4″ x 4″.  Adhere with Snail Adhesive.

Dry emboss a 4 5/8″ x 3 3/8″ piece of Whisper White card stock using the Polka Dot Basics Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.  Adhere with Snail Adhesive to card base.

Stamp the “live laugh love” sentiment from Layering Love stamp set with Versamark Ink on Whisper White card stock.  Heat emboss with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

Lightly brush Melon Mambo ink with an Aqua Painter (filled with water to create a “wash”) over the embossed sentiment area.  Allow to dry and lightly dab embossed letters with a paper towel to remove any ink residue.

Crop the sentiment with a coordinating heart die from Sweet & Sassy Framelits Dies.  I used the Big Shot Magnetic Platform to keep the die in place during it’s journey through the Big Shot.  Add a single Melon Mambo dot from Brights Enamel Shapes.  Dots are the sweetest little “beauty marks!”

Tie a piece of Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine in a bow around a 4″ x 1 1/2″ piece of Melon Mambo card stock.  Adhere to the polka dot embossed pattern using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Adhere heart to the Melon Mambo layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Crop two stems from Old Olive card stock with the Leaf Punch.  Adhere with Snail Adhesive below the heart and baker’s twine (on left).

  2. I have all these hearts I cut from my Valentine cards and saved of course and now I know what I can do with them. I knew I would do something with them, just didn’t know what yet, Thank you for an idea.

  3. Love this sweet card, Mary, with the bright colors. The Melon Mambo wash on the heart is so clever. Enjoy your day!

    • Thanks, HJ. I love the wash of color, too. The color does “it’s thing!”

    • Thanks, BK. The key it to no use too much water or the card stock will pill.

  4. This card is so lovely, Mary. The colors are eye-popping and the sentiment fits perfectly in the beautiful heart.

    • I rarely get out my Aqua Painter, Karren. However, this was a fun, quick application with plenty of WOW!

  5. WOW!! Mary, this card is so gorgeous, love the beautiful layers and sweet details but that heart is a show stopper with that lovely Melon Mambo watercolor wash, this makes the fabulous sentiment just pop!!
Thank you so much for sharing the details for this card.
    XO
    Maria.

    • Thanks, Maria. You can change the look so easily with a quick color change. How about a wash of the new Gorgeous Grape or Merry Merlot!
