As I promised in yesterday’s Easter card post, I created a video demonstration (above) that shares my simple and pretty technique with sponge daubers and sticky notes for creating an ombre background.
Here’s a FREE PDF Tutorial with step-by-step instructions for yesterday’s card. For contrast, I changed the colors to Bermuda Bay and Lemon-Lime Twist for today’s card and video.
I love hearing from you! Please leave me your questions or comments about the project for today.

Such a great video, Mary! I love this tutorial and how you’ve showcased the flowers so beautifully. Great colors.
Thanks, BK. I debated watercoloring the flowers and decided I liked the look of them in black with a colorful background!
Mary, Thank you for another beautiful card. Love all your tutorials. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoy the tutorials. I’m getting a rhythm to setting up the step by step instructions (and some help with the PDF’s). I plan to continue!
Both of these cards are so pretty, Mary. I love this sponging technique which gives a special air to the card for the recipient. Great video and I appreciate the PDF as well. I think your idea of us all coming there for a group class is a wonderful idea!! Let us know the date!! LOL! Enjoy your day!
Thanks, HJ. Your comments means the world. Would love to meet you someday!
You make some the most beautiful cards that look amazing and come together fairly quick. THANKS for yet another GREAT video.
That’s lovely to hear, Kadie!
Mary,
You always amaze me with your ideas and your presentation. The card in this video is simple but concise. The beginning of spring !
My goal is simple & pretty. Appreciate your kindness, Celia.
Great tutorial Mary! Not only on the umbre effect but on how to use the stamparatus (still waiting for mine) and what not to do with the new tool ie, magnets.
Glad it was helpful, Carol. We can all find our “best method” for using the Stamparatus. Well worth a few tweaks to work with how we personally stamp!
Ohh!! Mary, I love the gorgeous sponging on this card, the Daffodils are just so beautiful and so perfectly stamped.
Clean, Simple and Fabulous!!
Thank you for the video, it’s always so lovely to see you in action.
XO
Maria.
Thanks, Maria. It’s my pleasure to do the videos. Wish everyone could be here to stamp together!
Thanks for the video on this. Really cool idea and I can think of lots of ways to use this.
I would love to find wider sticky notes . . . would take the process even less time if they were as wide as the card! Thanks, Karren.
Gorgeous and easy! Gotta love that!
That’s always the goal, Deb R. I appreciate you stopping by!
