WOW! Video Tutorial: Create Borders with Layering Squares

On yesterday’s post here, I added a bold border to my sympathy card that defined the sentiment.  I used the Stampin’ Up! Layering Squares Framelits Dies to create this simple detail.  In today’s 1 Minute to WOW! Video Tutorial, I share tips on how I created and layered the frame.  Details for the Christmas card in the video will be on my Stampin’ Pretty blog tomorrow.

  1. Mary, I love this video. IIlearn so very much from you. You are so amazing. Thank you for taking the timer to explain everything to all of us. Your card is so sweet. The black border with te accent on Home make a huge impact. Thank you, Ellen Hinds

  2. Mary,
I’m still not sure how you did the embossing of the house and tree? Did you have a second piece of white CS just below the house. I understand how you cut the two buildings off, but it is difficult to see if there are two pieces of white CS on the front of the card. Did you have a tutorial about this embossing? If so, I have missed it. I love the simple design of this card. Thanks for sharing.

  3. I want to tell you I’m always inspired by your cards and videos. When ever I have a hard time thinking of new things I pull your site up and you just know what I need. Thank you so much. Your amazing! Kim

  4. Love the tips about the border and how to cut out for a word! Terrific….I will definitely try this.

    • I think it adds so much oomph to include the border – even emphasize a favorite word (like “home”). Thanks, Carol.
