I have an Occasions Catalog sneak peek card to share with you today for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (MOJO427).
I can’t wait for my BIG demonstrator pre-order for the 2016 Occasions Catalog (as well as Sale-A-Bration promotion free gifts) to arrive today. I loaded up on some fantastic new stamps and accessories to tempt you with until the Occasions Catalog and the Sale-A-Bration promotion begin Jan. 5. Please see below on how to get your hands on these new catalogs!
STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:
- Sneak Peek! I used soft and pretty patterns from Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper for my squares as well as the envelope liner.
- The scallop pattern squares (Mint Macaron) were cropped to 1 1/4″ and layered over 1 1/2″ squares of Blushing Bride card stock.
- Sneak Peek! The sweet “for you” font is from Birthday Blooms stamp set, which is a part of a coordinating suite with the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper. There are even more coordinating goodies available when the Occasions Catalog beginning Jan. 5.
- A few random sequins (Metallics Sequin Assortment) add a playful punch.
- I used the same technique to tie the Blushing Bride 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon to the tag as I did for Baker’s Twine in this video tutorial.

That stamp set is Super Cute!
I agree “paperbaker.” So many possibilities for year round use!
You are very welcome, Sandi! Thanks for your comment in return!
Love this stamp set. The font is gorgeous. Thank you for the sneak peeks.
Hi Mary,
Your card is so soft and lovely. The colors are so gentle. I like the sequins as well.
Hope you have a creative week!
blessings
Thank you, Barb!
My bases of my cards are almost always 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ unless I say otherwise. The layer on top of the base is usually 1/4″ less in each direction, occasionally 1/2″ if I want more of a “framed” effect. On this card, the Blushing Bride layer on top of the base is 4″ x 5 1/4″ and the Whisper White is 3 3/4″ x 4″.
The size of the squares ( also shared in the post) is 1 1/4″ square for the designer series paper and 1 1/2″ square for the Blushing Bride card stock below.
The rectangular layers below the tag (I used 1 3/4″ and 2″ circle punches for the tag) are: Mint Macaron 3 3/8″ x 1″ and Whisper White 3 3/4″ x 1 3/8″.
What a lovely, soft color combination. And a great big paper hug for sharing the dimensions of the squares/rectangular layers….now I can go play without all the guesswork. As always, you inspire:-)
Thanks, Rene! Glad the measurements were helpful!
Thanks, HJ. I posted a video with my catalog pre-order. Take a peek: https://youtu.be/lM1WBZ0dkzs Mary
This is a very pretty card, Mary. I love the soft colors and the design challenge today. I’m anxious to see the new catalog.
LOVE today’s card! Cute as all get out!
Thanks, Susan!
Thanks, Kadie. Those little squares were tricky to work with but I opted to keep them uniform so that it was still clean and simple!
SIMPLY FABULOUS my friend!
