Twin Birthday Cards

Stampin up stamping stampinup pretty mary fish for you 4

Today my sisters (twins) share a birthday.  I kept each of their cards simple, colorful and relied on this week’s Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge (PPA228) for the layout!  Check out what the rest of the PPA resident artists have dreamed up with this sketch and PLAY ALONG HERE!

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • The circles have it!  I used the Stampin’ Up! 1 3/4″, 1 3/8″ and 1″ Circle Punches.

  • The shape of the Crushed Curry Button (shhh!!! it’s close enough to coordinate with the Hello, Honey Card Stock) mirrors the punched circles.  That’s the kind of thing that makes my heart go pitter pat.
  • Snip the end of your ribbon to a point so that you can thread it through the button holes and tie.  Trim the ends after it’s bow-licious!

WHICH COLOR COMBINATION DO YOU LIKE BEST?
Do you prefer the combination created with Strawberry Slush or Coastal Cabana?  I love hearing from you and welcome your comments at the end of this post!

  1. Fun! Great way to make two cards for the twins, alike but different. Hope they had a great day!

  2. My oldest sister was born in May. Thanks, Nancy. Having 3 sisters (4 girls) was always interesting!

  3. Actually I like the Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush together.
Your Mom had at least three girls in November. Is you other sister’s birthday in November also? I think that’s neat, having four girls.

  4. Cute cards….I’m sure that your sisters will love them. Being a “fish” (Pisces) I must admit that I am partial to water colors, so my vote goes to the Coastal Cabana card. And I see that I am in the minority with that vote. LOL!

  5. Cute card layout for twin sisters! I adore when you use geometrics in your card design… so clean and crisp and so “Mary”! My vote is for Coastal Cabana!! 🙂

  6. Ooooh Boy , MsMary are you really going to make me pick, …… Is it fair to say I love both color combos…………? Lol !
I reall do ! When I saw it , I said OOOH that’s down MsMarys alley, do I know my Fearless Leader or WHAT????
    And I love that hello honey button!!! ( I promise I won’t tell , )
    It goes GREAT !!!!
    Tfs,
    Hugs Frenchie ,

  7. Hi Mary. Both colors are terrific and make me think of rose gardens and a walk down by the ocean. Now I’m usually not a fan of circles however your cards are so charming and this layout easy to duplicate that I’m going to give this sketch a whirl. Thanks again for great inspiration to try something new.

  8. Gotta give a big thumbs up for this card. LOVE the color combination on the Strawberry Slush one. Your sisters are going to flip over their card…..THANKS for sharing my friend!

  9. Thanks, Kelly. I originally had the wrong sketch image up (next week’s) but have updated to PPA228. Fortunately, I used the right sketch for this week.

  10. Both cards are so nice Mary but I prefer the strawberry slush. The design team did a great job too. I checked out their cards. Very inspiring.

  11. Thanks, Nancy. The photo of the Strawberry Slush card came out a little deeper than reality. Hoping you are imagining it a little softer 🙂

  12. Good Morning Mary . . . I prefer the Strawberry slush.
    Happy Birthday to them both!
    🙂
