Ribbon of Courage Sympathy Card

Create this simple & pretty sympathy card using Stampin' Up! Ribbon of Courage - Stampin Up Mary Fish

I typically prefer to use “love and hugs” when creating sympathy cards for good friends vs. something more formal.  The Stampin’ Up! Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set and coordinating Support Ribbon Framelits Dies are a perfect fit.

I love hearing from you. If you have a question or thoughts to share about today’s post, please, COMMENT HERE.

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • I used the Layering Squares Framelits Dies to create a border that “intersects” the sentiment.  I’ll share a 1 Minute to WOW! Video Tutorial with you tomorrow with tips!

  • Such a versatile die set!  The sweet flowers are from Support Ribbon Framelits Dies.
  • Pick a contrasting bright color!  A pop of Pumpkin Pie in the flower centers (1/2″ Circle Punch) and to the left of the sentiment (Brights Enamel Shapes) looks pretty but doesn’t overpower the Night of Navy.

  • Yum! The Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon is the finishing touch.
  • Stampin’ Up! Thick Whisper White Card Stock is a fabulous weight for the 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card base.

Delivering Sunshine Wishes!

Stampin Up Sunshine Wishes Sympathy Cheer Up Card Idea - Mary Fish StampinUp

To add a little “cheer” in someone’s life, I created this “sunshine” card using Stampin’ Up! Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies.  I used Crushed Curry to “bring on the sunshine” and Fresh Fig to personalize (she loves purple).

I love hearing from you. If you have a question or thoughts to share about today’s post, please, COMMENT HERE.

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • The perfect weight!  I used “must-have” Thick Whisper White card stock for the standard card base (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″).

  • The die cut “sunshine” from Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies was cropped twice with Thick Whisper White card stock.  I used the Big Shot Precision Base Plate to reduce the “bumps” you sometimes get with detailed dies.

  • For rich dimension . . . Wee bits of Snail adhesive were used to adhere the two “sunshine” die cuts together.  I find this quick, non-messy and a little “forgiving” if you need to nudge them a bit to line up.
  • The angled layer plays up the modern style of the die cuts!
  • The Sunshine Sayings stamp set offers the perfect coordinating message “is on its way!”  It’s cropped with a die from Bunch of Banners Framelits Dies and a pop of Crushed Curry (Regals Enamel Dots), finishes the look.

  • A Fresh Fig pattern from Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack dresses up the envelope flap.  I used my Paper Snips to carefully trim it to fit.

Sorry for Everything Sympathy Card

Stampin Up Sorry for Everything Sympathy Cards Ideas - Mary Fish StampinUp

The Sorry for Everything stamp set has the sentiments you’ll need for a sympathy card, belated birthday, loss of a pet, get well and more!  Today’s sympathy card mixes the bold “sorry” with “for your loss.”   Simple and easy.

I love hearing from you. If you have a question or thoughts to share about today’s post, please, COMMENT HERE.

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • To create the cropped card base, trim Very Vanilla card stock to 4 1/4″ x 9″.  Score at 5 1/2″.   A Stampin’ Trimmer manages both with precision!  Thick Very Vanilla card stock is an ideal weight for a card base.

  • The left print pattern measures 3″ x 3 3/4″.  The right print pattern measures 1 1/2″ x 3 3/4″.  Each print is layered over Dapper Denim card stock that is 1/4″ larger.
  • I’m not afraid to use color on a sympathy card.  The Lemon Lime Twist and Dapper Denim patterns of Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper look modern and sophisticated on the card and envelope flap.  Watch my WOW! video here for tips on adding pretty paper to an envelope flap.

  • The “for your loss” sentiment was cropped with a die from Bunches of Banners Framelits Dies.  The same die crops the frame in Dapper Denim for a crisp border.

  • A single dot from Glitter Enamel Dots adds a dash of sparkle and interest.
  • I tucked a Dapper Denim stem (Flourish Thinlits Dies) behind the focal point for softness.
