This simple “hello” card design and modern floral pattern from Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Kisses Designer Series Paper can be the cornerstone of your spring cards. Oh, so, fresh!
WHAT I LOVE! This quick design can transition to a different theme or mood with ANY designer series paper. It’s just a 3” x 4 1/2” piece of designer series paper cut into three 1” wide strips. I keep them in order so that the pattern feels cohesive.
my simple card tutorial
CUT YOUR CARD STOCK – DIMENSIONS:
- Basic White Thick Card Stock:
- Card Base – 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2
- Die-Cut Sentiment Layer ~ 3 x 2 (before die-cutting)
- Calypso Coral Card Stock:
- Layer – 4 x 5 1/4
- Parakeet Party Card Stock:
- Layer – 3 1/2 x 4 3/4
- Butterfly Kisses Designer Series Paper:
- Strips – 3 x 4 1/2 cut into 1″ wide strips
- Scraps for flagged pieces
PROJECT TUTORIAL:
Begin by burnishing the fold of the card base with a Bone Folder.
Layer and adhere the Parakeet Party to the Calypso Coral together and to the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Adhere the 1″ strips to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. TIP: I find it easiest to adhere the left and right strips first, then center the middle strip.
Use a Stamparatus to stamp the sentiment (Simply Fabulous Stamp Set) in Calypso Coral Classic Ink onto the Basic White layer.
Crop the sentiment with a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (Standard or Mini) and the 2nd largest Something Fancy die as shown.
Crop two pieces of Butterfly Kisses Designer Series Paper with the Something Fancy “parallelogram” die.
Adhere to the back of the sentiment with Multipurpose Liquid Glue as shown.
Adhere to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
POP OF PERSONALITY! Embellish with a Parakeet Party Fun Flower Resin Shapes.
PERFECT POLISH! Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the Designer Series Paper to the outside flap of a Basic White Medium Envelope. You can see my video demonstration with tips on adding designer paper to an envelope flap here.

I almost always use Tombow liquid glue because of its “multi-purpose” feature. It works great for so many different applications.
