Welcome to the Pals’ Blog Hop! We’re so glad you’re here because we made some great projects for our Retirement Fun Fold Party. They showcase products from the Holiday Catalog that will be retiring soon. You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
My fun fold card creation pairs the retiring Mercury Glass Designer Acetate with the retiring Sip Sip Hooray Bundle and Cheers Dies. The fun fold card was inspired by one shared by my friend and fellow demonstrator, Patty Bennett.
STAMPIN’ PRETTY STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
Begin with a 5 1/2 x 10 card base of Stampin’ Up! Merry Merlot card stock. Score and fold at 4 1/4 & 8 1/2.
Cut a 2nd piece of Merry Merlot card stock to 3 x 7. Score and fold at 3 1/2.
Use a Stampin’ Up! Paper Trimmer to cut a piece of Mercury Glass Designer Acetate to the following sizes: 1 1/4 x 5 1/4, 4 x 5 1/4, and 2 3/4 x 3 1/4.
TIP: Remove the protective liner from the Mercury Glass Acetate.
Adhere the two longer pieces to outside flaps of the large base and the shorter piece to the inside left flap of the smaller base.
Cut a piece of Silver Foil to 1 x 10. Score at 4 1/4 & 8 1/2.
Adhere to the center of the outside of the card with Snail Adhesive.
Adhere the smaller Merry Merlot base to the center of the smaller flap with Snail Adhesive.
Cut a 24″ piece of Silver 3/8″ Metallic-Edge Ribbon and adhere to the back of the card with bits of Snail Adhesive as shown in the photo below.
Use a die-cutting and embossing machine to crop a piece of Silver Foil using the 2 5/8″ Wide Stitched Rectangle Die. When zipping through the machine for the first time, place the top cut plate at the 3 1/4″ mark (this will leave one end uncut).
After cropping the first side, line the die up so that it covers the end that didn’t get cut (it should feel like it ‘snaps’ into place). Zip it through the machine one more time, this time making sure the top cut plate covers that end. This creates a custom 3 1/4 x 2 5/8 sized stitched rectangle.
Adhere to the small Merry Merlot base, over the top of the ribbon, with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Use a Stamparatus to stamp the wine glasses in Versamark Ink onto a piece of Whisper White card stock that has been rubbed with an Embossing Buddy. Cover with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Flick to remove the excess, and set with a Heat Tool.
Crop with the coordinating dies (Sip & Celebrate Dies) and a die-cutting and embossing machine.
Use a Stamparatus to stamp the ‘wine’ in Merry Merlot Ink onto the die-cut wine glasses as shown and to stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White card stock.
Crop the sentiment with the Story Label Punch.
Adhere all as shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Use the Stampin’ Up! Paper Trimmer to cut two 4 x 5 1/4 pieces of Whisper White card stock. Adhere to the inside of the card base with Snail Adhesive.
Use a Stamparatus by Stampin’ Up! to stamp the sentiment (Sip Sip Hooray) in Merry Merlot Ink onto a 2 3/4 x 3 1/4 piece of Whisper White card stock.
Adhere to the inside of the small card base with Snail Adhesive.
Use a die-cutting and embossing machine to crop the two champagne glasses (Sip & Celebrate Dies) using Mercury Glass Designer Acetate and the “cheers!” (Cheers Dies) in Silver Foil.
Adhere the glasses with Mini Glue Dots.
Adhere the “cheers” with bits of Snail Adhesive.
POP OF PERSONALITY! Add six Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the inside of each card base as shown.
