Simple Saturday: Tropical Escape Valentine

Learn how to create this handmade tropical escape Valentine using Stampin' Up! Products. Card created by Mary Fish, Stampin' PrettyToday’s Tropical Escape Valentine was inspired by one of my cards from 4 years ago, shown below. You can view the original post here.   I CASE’d (Copy And Share with Everyone) myself!  What could be simpler!

Simple Saturday: Back to Black Designer Series PaperThe 1 1/4″ squares of Tropical Escape 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper from the Stampin’ Up! 2018-2019 Annual Catalog (shown below) are key to the design.  Think of the endless possibilities with different, coordinating Stampin’ Up! patterns!

STAMPIN’ PRETTY STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS:

Start with a 4 1/4 square card base of Whisper White Thick card stock, scored at the side.

Adhere a 3 3/4 square of Whisper White card stock with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Cut four 1 1/4 squares of the Tropical Escape 6×6 Designer Series Paper and adhere as shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Use the Stamparatus to stamp the “with much love & thanks” sentiment in Shaded Spruce Ink onto a piece of Whisper White card stock.  Trim to size with a Stampin’ Trimmer, removing the “& thanks” portion of the sentiment.  Adhere with one Stampin’ Dimensional on the right and double-stacked dimensionals on the left.

A bold contrast!  Use the Big Shot & stitched heart die (Stitched Labels Framelits) to crop a piece of Lovely Lipstick card stock.  Adhere with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.

  1. I love this, Mary! These greens really pop. AND…I remember the first card, too, because I loved that one then. Such a great way to use bits of paper. ♥

    • Thanks, BK. I thought it was a fun change up from the original black and white.

  2. Love the Tropical Escape. Planning a class for our Card Club with it. One Card Wonder with Swag. Of course I’m doing a ton of prep work! Making about 35 kits with 4 cards each.

  3. Love these pretty cards, Mary. The 4 squares are great for using scraps. Thanks for the inspiration. Have a wonderful day!

    • As Hilda commented above, it’s a fun sketch for using scraps. Just about any designer paper collection has possibilities, Sue.
