Sunflower Hello Card with a Punch

Create a sunflower fall card using the Stampin Up Christmas Bulb Builder Punch - Mary Fish StampinUp Ideas

The sunflower on today’s “hello” card was created using the Stampin’ Up! Christmas Bulb Builder Punch.  Isn’t it fabulous when paper crafting tools have year round possibilities!

I adore the Buffalo Check background stamp (one of My Favorite Things in the holiday catalog).  I used Early Espresso ink on Whisper White card stock.   However, consider red or green with black for a handsome, north woods or holiday look . . . pastels and white (or tone on tone) produce pretty gingham patterns.

The Stampin’ Up! Stamparatus was key in getting good coverage with the Buffalo Check background stamp .  My WOW! video below offers tips and a demonstration.

MY STAMPIN’ PRETTY STEP-BY-STEP TUTORIAL:

Create a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base with Stampin’ Up! Thick Whisper White card stock and the Stampin’ Trimmer.

Using the Stamparatus stamp positioning tool, stamp the Buffalo Check background stamp in Early Espresso ink on Whisper White card stock.  Trim to 2 5/8 x 4 3/4 and adhere with Snail Adhesive to a 2 7/8 x 5 piece of Mango Melody card stock.  Adhere to card base as shown with Snail Adhesive.

Punch 14 “petals” with the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch from the Garden Impressions 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.  Assemble and adhere petals to a 1 3/4″ circle of card stock (see photo below).  TIP:  The base of the bulb is a handy tab for adhering and lining up the petals.

Crop a 1 7/8 stitched circle with Early Espresso card stock, Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies and the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.  Adhere as a flower center to petals layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Adhere sunflower to a 3 1/4 square of Whisper White card stock.  Layer and adhere 3 1/4 Whisper White square to a 3 1/2 square of Mango Melody card stock and a 4 inch square of vellum.  Adhere  all layers to the card base with Snail Adhesive.

Using the Stamparatus for crisp results, stamp “hello” from the Darling Label stamp set (exclusively available in the Darling Label Punch Box) in Early Espresso ink onto Whisper White card stock.  Trim card stock to  2 1/8 x 1, using the Tailored Tag Punch to create the flagged end on the right.

Bling! Bling!  Add two Stampin’ Up! Gold Faceted Gems for a pop of personality on the sentiment.  Adhere sentiment to flower center using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

    • So kind, Maria. The Buffalo Check stamp is fabulous. A little more work getting all those squares to connect but pretty easy with the Stamparatus!
