Stampin’ Up! Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper Goes Wild!

Create a simple frog card using Stampin Up Toil & Trouble & Animal Outing - Mary Fish StampinUp Envelope

Today’s card proves that Stampin’ Up! Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper goes beyond Halloween.  I adore this “wild” frog pattern and sentiment.  It will be perfect to brighten a friend’s day!

STAMPIN’ PRETTY STEP-BY-STEP TUTORIAL:

Create a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base using Stampin’ Up! Crumb Cake card stock and the Stampin’ Trimmer.  Adhere a 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 piece of Mossy Meadow card stock to card base as shown using Snail Adhesive.

Cut the frog pattern from Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper to 3 x 4 1/2 and adhere to a 3 1/4 x 4 3/4 piece of Granny Apple Green card stock.

Wrap frog layer four times with Linen Thread and adhere with Glue Dots where it will be buried below the tag.  Adhere frog layer to card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the Stamparatus, stamp the “Wild about You” sentiment (Animal Outing Stamp Set) in Mossy Meadow ink on Whisper White card stock.  Crop with the third smallest oval of Layering Ovals Framelits Dies, the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine and the Magnetic Platform (to keep the image centered).

Loop Linen Thread as shown and tie in the middle.  Adhere with a Glue Dot to a Galvanized Button.  Adhere with a Glue Dot to the right side of the tag.

  1. Love this card! I’d like to second Donna’s comment about wishing SU would sell a package of a single pattern of DSP, especially at Christmas. I make about 80-90 cards every year, and I can’t afford to buy enough packages to get enough of the pattern I want, so I have to use “contraband” to make my cards the same or use paper that doesn’t fit my plan.

    • good points about making more sheets available. i’ll pass this along. my suggestion (for now) would be to design a card that can work with multiple patterns. hopefully, most in a pack!

  2. Great cards Mary! Your color choice is ALWAYS superb! I’d love to see you make that cute little bow on one of your tutorials. Thanks for sharing!!

  3. Awwww, love your wild frogs , lol and that Christmas card is lovely too , Tfs MsMary

    • The Christmas card inspired me (loved the bow) and the frogs let me go “wild!”

  4. Mary, love these frogs and the DSP! Wish SU sold the individual sheets of paper or a stamp set with all the different frogs found on this DSP with some sentiments . This holiday catalog has some cute DSP that I wish SU sold individually .

  5. Your card made my day! Lemon lime twist and granny apple green are so lovely together. And those frogs are just so cute!

  6. This card just gave me the biggest smile this cool AZ Saturday morning. HOW FUN……Wasn’t sure how to use that frog paper…..you’ve inspired me. THANKS!

  7. Oh I really like this card! Being a gardener (Celia’s Paper Garden is a real gardener) I use a lot of Crumb Cake and Lindn Tread. Don’t you love the braided linen thread, too? This layout and the shapes is a real keeper. I saw it in the catalog and now, thanks to you, I have the measurements <3

    • Thanks, Celia the real gardener! My measurements are probably different than that catalog . . . but give it a try!

  8. ADORABLE……I need to do a search to see if I have anymore of those ADORABLE frogs and then….YEP – I am going to CASE it (hope you do not mind) as this is PERFECT for a card I need to send out!!!!

Simple work…right!?!? Thanks for the smile!

    • I think any frog (or other critter) pattern will do. These frogs are definitely WILD! Thanks, Susan
