Create a simple Christmas card using Stampin Up Dashing Deer stamp set & Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies - Mary Fish StampinUp Idea

My favorite season for today’s hop is Christmas and the winter holidays.  I adore all the bling and shine possibilities and today’s card offers both!

Save 10% when you purchase Dashing Deer stamp set and coordinating Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies as a bundle.  They were key ingredients on today’s card!

STAMPIN’ PRETTY STEP-BY-STEP TUTORIAL:

Create a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base with Thick Whisper White card stock and a Stampin’ Trimmer.  Adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 Merry Merlot stripe pattern from Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper to the card base with Snail Adhesive.

What makes Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper “specialty?”  Stampin’ Up! has added gorgeous copper foil accents on one side of the twelve 12 x 12 sheets.  Now that’s SPECIAL!

Cut a piece of Copper Foil to 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.  Crop the deer from Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies from the Copper Foil piece as shown using the Big Shot and Precision Base Plate.   TIP:  I find using the Precision Base Plate reduces embossing from the “ejection” holes.

Create a simple Christmas card using Stampin Up Dashing Deer stamp set & Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies - Mary Fish StampinUp big shot

I carefully used the Big Shot Brush from the back (white side) to loosen the deer from the die.   I love the detail of the antlers!

TIP:  No one will ever know you covered the negative space of the die-cut deer!  Adhere a 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 piece of Whisper White card stock to the remaining Copper Foil from above using Snail Adhesive.  Adhere both layers to the card base using Snail Adhesive.

Cut a Merry Merlot and copper snowflake pattern from Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper to 3/4 high and crop the left side with the Tailored Tag Punch to end up with a 3 1/8 width.  Adhere as shown with Snail Adhesive.

Cut a piece of Copper Foil to 3/4 tall and crop the left side with the Tailored Tag Punch to end up with a 2 1/2 width.  Adhere as shown with Snail Adhesive.

Use the Stamparatus stamp positioning tool to stamp the sentiment from Dashing Deer stamp set in Merry Merlot Ink on a 3/4 high strip of Crumb Cake card stock.  Crop left side using the Tailored Tag Punch creating 2 1/2 width.  Adhere as shown using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I don’t have the coordinating Merry Merlot Stampin’ Blends Markers (they are on the way) so used the Dark Cherry Cobbler and Bronze Stampin’ Blends to color a self-adhesive Rhinestone Basic Jewel.  It worked like a champ.  Adhere the rhinestone to the right of sentiment.

Tie a piece of Linen Thread in a bow around the deer’s neck and adhere the deer to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Cut the copper foil snowflake pattern from Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper to 5 1/8 x 3.  Line up the envelope liner die (Beautiful Layers Thinlits Dies) evenly with the top and sides.  Crop with the Big Shot and the Magnetic Platform.    I like to crop with the liner die from the back of the designer series paper so that if any embossing happens from the pressure of my Big Shot, it won’t be seen from the front

Adhere liner to the inside of a Stampin’ Up! Medium Whisper White Envelope..
