On yesterday’s post here, I used the Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Day stamp set images and Stampin’ Blends Markers to color. Beautiful Day stamp set is on the list of My Favorite Things from the 2018 Occasion Catalog. Today’s video shares tips for coloring with Stampin’ Blends Markers using the flower from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set.
I used the Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blends Marker Combo for the flower. Here’s a link to more details and instructional videos for using the Stampin’ Blends Markers.
The butterfly card (above – Calypso Coral Combo), full supply list and details are on the original post here.

Great video Mary! Thanks for clarifying that you can start with dark or light and work from that point. The bottom line is to practice!
That is definitely the bottom line, Carol . . . I started out stamping an image five or 6 times and practicing different ways to color with the blends. It was fun and helped me find my best ways to blend!
Wonderful demonstration, thanks Mary!
That’s what I love to hear, Donna. Thank you!
Absolutely gorgeous, Mary! Love your coloring on this sweet flower – such a great video with so many wonderful tidbits. <3
Thank you, Brian. I appreciate each and every one of your daily comments!
Thanks Mary for the tips on th Stampin Blends. I just ordered them from the Occasions catalog so I’m anxious to try them.
I’m excited for your, Karla. I encourage anyone to try a combo (two shades of the same color) and practice a few times. It’s pretty easy to master and I’m always learning new techniques!
Good morning Mary,
If using the Stampin’ Blends was a daunting thought to some, you quelled all those fears for those still on the fence about adding these colouring tools to their repertoire.
As you touched on in your video, one does not have to be concerned with acquiring intense knowledge of blending principles. Your project was a sample of a simplistic and a user friendly technique that the even novice paper crafter can feel inspired to take a step to experiment with alcohol markers.
Thank you Mary!
Marianne . . . that is music to my ears. I have been intimidated by coloring (especially water coloring) for so long. I just couldn’t get the hang of it. As I stated in the video, the Stampin’ Blends made me feel empowered to color because I could do a simple level of technique and have beautiful results!
Thank you, Mary, for sharing these videos. They help me to feel more comfortable with using these new products. Your card is just Beautiful! The black matting and the angle of the butterfly make this a real Wow card~
Thanks, Roberta. My next step is to create a pretty card for the flower I colored in the video, right?
