I love hearing from you!  Please leave me your questions or comments about the project for today.

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • One of the perks of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is receiving exclusive resources and ideas.  My pillow box was CASE’d (Copy And Share with Everyone) from our Stampin’ Success magazine.  Why mess with something so simple and adorable?

  • Key to my pillow box was the Tags & Trimmings Stamp Set (for the sentiment) and coordinating Trim Your Stocking Thinlits Dies.  Save 10% when you purchase them as a bundle (one of My Favorite Things from the holiday catalog).  See ALL Stampin’ Up! 10% off bundles here.

  • Tear & Tape Adhesive is an essential in uniting the two pieces of the pillow box (you crop using the die twice) and adding the stocking to the front.  The notched end of the front and back of the pillow box should be at the top.  Easier to open.

  • Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper offers the cool Old Olive and Whisper White stripe and fun, black and white snowflake pattern for the cropped details.  This pretty paper collection is on the list of My Favorite Things from the holiday catalog.

  • See the die that looks like a Lego?  It’s perfect for creating holly berries or the sparkling berries I created with the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.
  • Here are additional ideas from Stampin’ Up! for using the Tags & Trimmings Bundle.

  2. That stocking is a real cutie. I can think of several places to put them around the house this Christmas. Thanks for the great ideas!

    • I appreciate your comment so much, Karren. Check out my video on today’s post (Friday) and you’ll see a pillow box I’m planning to use for Thanksgiving (one at each place setting – I have 30 people coming)!

  3. Ohh!! I’m so late to the commenting party!!! But better late than never.
This is super adorable, I think they would make awesome place settings for the Holiday feast, each little stocking with the name of your guest.
Awesome project Mary, thank you for sharing.
    XO
    Maria.

    • You’re never too late, Maria. I try to respond to every comment, whether recent or from a post in the past! Thank you for your kindness!

  4. What a practical and eye-catching project! You have not done an “inspired by” project lately unless I just missed the lead-in. Always enjoy what you come up with from looking at a colorful photo!

    • Great point about not doing an inspired by project recently, Hope. I love them and will keep it on the radar. I have been focusing on more videos but I need to keep the tried and true “inspired” going.

Thanks for your sweetness. Just finished a project for tomorrow using the same dies and about to shoot the video!

  5. Such a great project, Mary! I love this pillow box – and yet I’ve not made one. Yours is perfectly designed.

    • Thanks, Brian. I learned a few things in the process that will help others when I share the video tomorrow.

    • do you mean the stocking or perhaps the bell? i’ll go over these in my video for tomorrow. thanks for commenting, Kathryn.

      • I men the one with the snowflake. Is that actually the box? Ha ha! I’m so confused. LOL!

        • It’s the pillow box. You cut it twice and assemble. My video will do a better job of explaining: https://stampinpretty.com/2017/10/new-wow-video-create-stocking-pillow-box.html

  6. DARLING little project Mary. GREAT idea creating these for our Thanksgiving table back in Madison this year. Thanks for the idea!

  7. I think they are so sweet, Debbie. The pillow boxes would be lovely with a simple bow and name tag at my Thanksgiving table. Considering it!

  8. Mary, this is absolutely cool! My next class project for sure. Looking forward to the video.

    • I can’t take credit for the concept but learned a lot putting it together! Thanks.
