If you’re like me, you’ll love learning that the Stampin’ Up! Delicate Ornament Thinlits Dies can be used to create quick and pretty flowers and a vase! Year round die cutting possibilities!
My color combination was inspired by this week’s Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge (PPA275). Discover what the rest of the PPA Design Team has created with this sweet trio and play along here.
STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:
- I cropped the tip of the solid ornament from Delicate Ornament Thinlits Dies for the vase.
- The flowers were created with the small layering die.
- The perfect touches are Linen Thread for the vase and three Crushed Curry Candy Dots. Close enough to Hello Honey
- The “thank you” sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up! Something to Say stamp set.
- I used the Stampin’ Up! Fine-Tip Glue Pen to glue the skinny pieces. Watch my Stampin’ Pretty video here for a demonstration on using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen.

That is so very cool! I am currently preparing for my first craft show and need a wide variety of cards. This is brilliant! 🙂 This would be great as a Mother’s Day card too!
Thanks for sharing your comment, Jodi!
Thanks so much, Nicole!
I love that you saw outside the box with these lovely framelits! I never would have thought of such a great idea! But, thanks to you, I’m going to have to try this one out!
That trick to make the vase has me looking at this set in a whole new way! tfs
Keep in mind that both solid ornaments can be modified this way and you can layer the decorative pieces (opposing colors, etc.) for added interest!
Your style, your sense of color, your smile is what drew me to your works of art. You never cease to amaze me Ms. Mary.
What a sweetie, Maggie, and wonderful way to start my day! Your kindness means so much!
Simple, sweet and yet very clever.
Oh Mary, how gorgeous is this card!!! I love it when the punches and dies are used in different ways from their original purpose and this card is a lovely example of that.
So CAS, so elegant and beautiful, the PPA color challenge go perfectly together in your creation.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Maria.
Your comments warm my heart, Maria. Thanks!
This is brilliant and beautiful, Mary! Thanks for the inspiration.
Big smile. I tried this same thing (vase) with a previous set of Stampin’ Up! ornament dies. The beauty of the Delicate Ornament Thinlits Dies is that you have a number of ways to create a vase (ornaments) and the “flowers” are bonus!
You are a genious!
Love this Mary! You’ve made me see these Thinlits in a whole new way. And I thought I didn’t need them. Hmm.
Such a unique way to use the Framelits! Another reason that we definitely need these.

This is such an adorable card. Change out the sentiment and you’re ready with a birthday wish. Luv it!!!!!
Wow, flowers from the ornament! Who’d have thought? Love it. I’ll will definitely have to try that.
Simply LOVE how you designed a flower by using the small layering die. BRILLIANT!
Hi Mary, Love the new use for the thinlits! Super cute vase and terrific flowers.
🙂
Mary, I wondered where that beautiful flower came from. I never even took notice of it before. I will be casing this card over the weekend! Love, Love, Love
