Welcome to the first Pals Blog Hop of 2015. We hope your new year is off to a great creative start. To celebrate the start of a new Stampin’ Up! year, we are showcasing products from our newest catalog – the Occasions Catalog. You may also see new Sale-a-bration promotional products too. Earn a FREE Sale-A-Bration gift with every $50 you spend (total before shipping and tax). Ends March 31.
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Kelly DeTommaso at Kelly’s Creative Corner. Use the full lineup below to move along from blog to blog so you see all of the new projects.
My project for today’s hop uses a new Occasions Catalog stamp set called Mother’s Love. I love the simple style and artful font!
STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:
- I’m a big Stampin’ Up! photopolymer (clear) stamp fan. Not only do photopolymer stamps make “see through” placement of the layered stamps on this card a snap, they are easier on the budget!
- I used my Stampin’ Up! Real Red and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers to color directly the flower and leaves. I don’t recommend using Blendabilities Markers since they permanently stain photopolymer (clear) stamps (yep, I realized too late).
- A trio of the tiniest of the Pearls Basic Jewels dots the centers of the flowers and adds the perfect touch.
- A coordinating sentiment is perfect for the interior.
- I lined the envelope with a classy Real Red grasscloth pattern from Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack (Occasions Catalog).
- Happy Heart Embossing Folder (Occasions Catalog) was used to create the prettiest little protective cushion for mailing!
- Hover and Pin it! Here’s a photo showing key products for today’s card that you can save or pin to Pinterest. See ALL my product photos in one spot on my How to Make Simple Cards board on Pinterest.

Beautiful card. Such great tips about the “cushion” and not using blendies on the photopolymer stamps.
Tiffany: Just to play it safe, I add a 70 cent stamp on my handmade cards. I try to remember to add “please hand cancel” on the outside but realize that doesn’t always get noticed.
Such a pretty card! And I love the hearts embossing folder you used for the protective mailing. Can you tell me how many stamps you use to mail your cards? Thanks for your blog–you amaze me!
Mary these colors just pop off the page! This is a very striking and pretty card!
Love the color combination. The pop of black keeps it from looking like Christmas! Very striking. Thanks for the tip on embossing the cover sheet!
I love the color combination and the clean design Mary. Pretty card!
Mary I love this set and your card; can’t wait to use mine. Thanks for the tips.
Love your card Mary!
Thanks, Katy. I love the set and it’s fun to hear you feel it reflects my style!
Mary, this stamp set was made for you!! Love the embossed protective sheet!!
Great card! My Mom’s tells me all the time ” No one Love like a Mother”!
Thanks for sharing this card.
Every card I create has a “rigid object” in it. So I automatically put on a 70 cent stamp (to make the post office happy) and add a protective layer. Embossing that takes just a few seconds and really looks pretty!
Absolutely beautiful card. I think embossing the protective sheet adds an extra little touch of pretty.
Such a stunning card, inside and out!!!!!
Beautiful, Mary. Love the colors. The protective embossed sheet for mailing is a great idea.
I plan to send this to my mom before Mother’s Day as a little surprise!
Beautiful card Mary. This inside is as pretty as the out!
The colors just pop! This card is amazing! Great for Mother’s day or any day is a good day to tell our moms how much we appreciate them! Thanks for sharing!
