PPA141: Like a Rhinestone Cowboy

Ppa 141 mary fish stampin pretty
I hope you are ready to “kick up yer heels” and participate in this week’s Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge (PPA141).  It’s another beauty by Stampin’ Pretty Pal Margaret Moody.  For more artistic inspiration, please check out what the rest of the PPA Design Team has created for this sketch HERE.

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • Experiment!  I flipped the sketch 90 degrees to try a new perspective.
  • I used a Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker to color the stitch at the top of the boot.

  • The card base measures 5 x 5″.  Each strip of Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper measures 4″ x 1″.  I think this pattern is a slam dunk complement to the western vibe!  How about you?
  • The Merri Minis star stamps coordinate perfectly with the Merry Minis Star Punch (Merry Minis Punch Pack).  This dynamic duo landed on My Top 10 Holiday Catalog Favorites.
  • Rhinestone Basic Jewels bring on the bling for the finishing touches.  While creating this card, Glen Campbell’s “Like a Rhinestone Cowboy” kept playing in my brain . . . over and over!

  4. I had to look twice before I realized you turned the sketch sideways. Why didn’t I think of using the same pattern 4 times. It would have been so much easier!

  7. As soon as the page loaded I was thinking of TEXAS because of the boot having the stars on it. It’s sooo TEXAS STYLE! I hate to inform Carol that the blue isn’t the correct shade of blue for the colors of Texas but that’s okay.

What a fabulous card Mary!! 🙂

  8. I’m so glad to read that I’m not the only one who always has to have every single stamp set that you use!! How creative was that last little touch on your card to set the red layer at an angle to give that sense of “a little kickin’ goin’ on.”
