Stampin’ Up! Pennant Punch Congrats

Isn’t this card a fun and simple congrats or birthday card?  I used the new Stampin’ Up! 2012-2014 In Colors to give it plenty of colorful pizzazz!  The design is inspired by a card I saw at the Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Leadership Conference last January (see below).

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • Five new In Colors will kick off the new Stampin’ Up! 2012-2013 Catalog.  From left to right on the pennants:  Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green, Midnight Muse and Primrose Petals.  Click for my Comparison to Other Stampin’ Up! Colors.
  • Each pennant is propped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I love those little 3-D wonders!
  • A contrasting circle adds a festive flair.

Here’s the card that jumped out at me at Leadership (a sample created for a display).  I simplified the process by using the Petite Pennants Builder Punch, which is larger than than what’s used on the card below.

So funny Mary…I was not a pennant person and I didn’t care for any pennant cards I saw…just really did not care for the style. But Mary…you did it. Your Congratulations card is over the top! I like the pennants and the look of this card…colors and all…the somplicity is great! Thanks for sharing…I WILL case this and definitely cite you for it!

LOVE this, Mary! So simple, bright, happy and fun. XOXO

  5. Very cute card, Mary! I have resisted ordering the new colors so far but don’t think I will be able to wait after June 1! Thanks for the inspirations that you provide everyday.

BTW, my son graduated last night as well and taking a 5 sec. diversion is quite alright in my book!

  6. hi ellen . . . i hadn’t thought about sending phillip a card but he certainly deserves a congrats. i was at my daughter’s high school graduation last night (which was wonderful) and missed the finale . . . OK, i took a quick peek on my iphone during the ceremony to see who won. hoping no one noticed. just a 5 second diversion to satisfy my inquiring mind 🙂 hugs, m

  7. This is adorable! What a great way to show off the new In Colors!

  8. Did you make this card for Phil Phillips? Great card and great show last night-I thought of you as I watched Idol. 🙂

  9. Great card!! Stunning in its simplicity! I am loving the new In Colors….can’t wait for them to hit Australian shores. 🙂

  10. hi kathy from NC . . . combining all the new in colors (as i did on today’s card)is a bit over the top for most cards but i thought it worked well for the pennants. they look their best individually (or paired), combined with neutrals or some of my favorite stampin’ up! colors from the color groups. think about this cool look: primrose petals, crumb cake and early espresso–“gawjus!”).

  11. I was feeling the same way as Kathy from NC when I first saw the new In Colors. But let me tell you after seeing the new In Colors displayed this way….I’m on board! LOVE LOVE LOVE how you have taken all the colors and added that little “Mary Spin” and created a Clean-Simple and FUN card. I honestly didn’t think these new colors would be “Fun” but……guess I’m a believer. MANY THANKS Mary for sharing this card with us. I LOVE IT!

  12. Oh pretty Ms Mary ! Sush happy colors , I love it ..that card can make anyone’s day a bright and sunny day !!! Love it !

This is a great card, Mary! I like it much better than the original. Although, I have to confess, I’m not loving the new In Colors. To me, they are almost primary in nature, and probably won’t fit very well with my style of papercrafting. But I still have the 2011 colors, which I like very much, along with the old faithfuls. Thanks for sharing such a great idea!
