How to Mix Patterns for a Super Simple Christmas Card

Create a handmade card with the Greetings of the Season Bundle by Stampin' Up! Mary Fish, Stampin' Pretty - Super Simple Christmas Card

What better way to show off the adorable and card “friendly” patterns of the Stampin’ Up! Take a Bow Designer Series Paper (DSP) than today’s Christmas card and envelope flap. This DSP makes mixing patterns a snap!  Each 1/2 x 2 1/4 strip represents a different, coordinated pattern.  TIP:  I alternated three solid patterns with the two open (white space) patterns for added pop and definition. So easy!

WHAT I LOVE!  The “to you and yours” tag gets whipped up using the Greetings of the Season bundle (stamp set and die – see all 10% off bundles).   The bundle is part of the Stampin’ Up! On-Line product exclusives and available for a limited time.  I topped the gift with a bow created using Stampin’ Up! Garden Green Linen Thread (Natural Tones Linen Thread: Garden Green, Copper Clay, Night of Navy).

  1. Hi, Mary,

I have the Take a Bow Bundle, can you please write the directions how to make the Bows?
    Thanks,
    Nancy

    • Hi Nancy,
do not have the dies, only the paper but I will do what I can to help.

Here is a link to a instruction sheet for creating a bow. The assembly steps are the same, you just need to decrease the strips used to 6, 4 and 1 (instead of 8 and 5). The assembly is the same, you just adhere fewer strips. HOW TO MAKE A BOW TUTORIAL

      1. Cut two sets of strips with the die.
      2. Wrap and Glue the ends of each strip together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (as shown here)
      3. Glue the 6 longest strips together (see the make a bow instruction sheet above).
      4. Glue the 4 medium strips together
      5. Glue the two set of bow pieces together, then add the single smallest strip to the center..

      I hope this helps!
      Mary
