Simple Saturday: Bird Ballad Note Card

Simple Note Card using Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up! Card by Mary Fish, Stampin' Pretty

Meet the GORGEOUS Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper!  Images in the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper were hand-colored by Stampin’ Up! concept artists using Stampin’ Blends for a soft, shaded look. Today’s Simple Saturday note card highlights one of the 12 designs in the collection.  I feel like the birds are talking to each other!

Stampin' Up! Bird Ballad DSP

Begin with a 3 1/2 x 5 Whisper White Note Card as your base.

Layer and adhere a 4 3/8 x 2 5/8 piece of Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper to a 4 5/8 x 2 7/8 piece of Basic Black card stock together with Snail Adhesive. Wrap with a piece of Linen Thread, securing with a bow as shown.

Use the Stamparatus to stamp the sentiment (Free As a Bird Stamp Set) in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Whisper White card stock.  Crop the sentiment with a die-cutting machine and the 2 1/2 x 1/2 Stitched Rectangle Die.  I adore those little stitches!  Adhere to the card with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere a 1 7/8 x 5 1/8 piece of Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper to the outside flap of a Whisper White Note Card Envelope. Trim to size with Paper Snips.  You can see my video demonstration with tips on adding designer paper to an envelope flap here.

  1. Lovely DSP and an even lovelier way to use it, Mary.
I can almost hear those birds singing.
    Thank you for sharing.

  2. This card is wonderful, great colors and subject. I LOVE how you grounded the black outline of the birds with the black layer of cardstock, it may seem minor but, that takes your card up another notch! TFS and have a great weekend.

  3. I thought the lighthouse card was over the top! NOW, the sweet birds has stolen my heart. Perfect for me to send to my closest friends. Thanks for your creativity!

  4. Hi Mary, I love how you have used the designer paper in lieu of the stamp. I think it’s genius, Wow!! I’m new to stamping and this will be a money saver for me since I only have a few stamps and even fewer colors. Now I will be able to build my stamping budget to get more supplies and still make beautiful cards. Win, win! Loving your tutorials and saving them for the future. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Kathryn
