Patriotic Varied Vases for the 4th Card

Create a simple fourth of july patriotic card using Stampin Up Varied Vase - Mary Fish

Today I celebrate the 4th of July by grilling out with family & friends and sharing my patriotic Varied Vases card in red, white and blue with YOU.  The Vases Builder Punch pulls this card together quickly.   I got to help design this punch and coordinating Varied Vases stamp set after reaching a $1 million sales milestone – more details here.  See more ways to use the punch and coordinating Varied Vases stamp set with my FREE Varied Vases PDF tutorials  and video demonstration.

SO COOL!  I also used the new Stampin’ Up! Embossing Mats for the first time to create the embossed stitched oval on the Blueberry Bushel layer.  Here’s a Stampin’ Up! video with a demonstration on how to use the embossing mats in several ways!  Prepare to be enabled!

STAMPIN’ PRETTY STEP-BY-STEP TUTORIAL:

Create a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base with Thick Whisper White card stock.

Use the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine and Embossing Mats (video demonstration here) with the largest of the ovals from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies to emboss a 3 3/4 x 4 3/4 piece of Blueberry Bushel card stock.  I adore the impression and subtle detail it leaves.

Layer and adhere with Snail Adhesive a 3 3/4 x 1 3/4 Blueberry Bushel stripe pattern from the 2018-2020 In Color 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper (one of My Favorite Things).  Wrap with Real Red 3/8 Cotton Ribbon, tie in a knot and adhere the Blueberry Bushel layer to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamp the stems from Varied Vases Photopolymer Stamp Set in Blueberry Bushel ink on Whisper White card stock.  Crop with the Big Shot and second largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  Adhere as shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals using the embossed (larger) oval in the background to center.

Punch vase (Blueberry Bushel) and tulips (Real Red) with the Vases Builder Punch and adhere with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamp “celebrate” from Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set (one of My Favorite Things) in Blueberry Bushel ink on Whisper White card stock.  Trim to 1 1/2 x 3/8 with right side flag created using the Tailored Tag Punch.  Add a Red Rhinestone and adhere over vase with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using a snappy polka dot pattern from the 2018-2020 In Color 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper, the Big Shot and liner die from Beautiful Layers Thinlits Dies, I created an envelope liner for a Stampin’ Up! Whisper White Medium Envelope.  I adhered it within the envelope with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
