Pals Blog Hop: All that Sparkles & Shines!

Welcome to the Pals December 2017 Blog Hop featuring “All that Sparkles and Shines.”  Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

Learn how to create a simple birthday card using Stampin Up Magical Day & Magical Mates - Mary Fish StampinUp Ideas

My card for the hop shares oodles of sneak peeks from the Myths & Magic product suite in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog.  Myths & Magic products will be available for purchase when the catalog begins Jan. 3!

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • The Magical Day Stamp Set and coordinating Magical Mates Framelits Dies are my top pick for the “whimsy” factor in the Occasions Catalog.  The magical characters evoke a sense of retro style and are just plain fun.  Save 10% when you purchase the stamp set and dies as a bundle (starting Jan. 3).

  • Love my Blends!  I used Stampin’ Blends Markers in Smoky Slate and Pink Pirouette to color my adorable unicorn.  Click here for a video and more details about how to use Stampin’ Blends Markers.
  • A swipe of a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush on the unicorn mane and tail adds yummy shimmer.

  • The pretty pattern in the background is from Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper.   It’s filled with literally dazzling designs.

  • Also a highlight in the Myths & Magic product suite is Myths & Magic 6 x 6 Glimmer Paper in iridescent, light green and turquoise.  I used iridescent for supreme sparkle on the die cut stems.

  • Colorful layers!  The sentiment was cropped twice with the banner die from Magical Mates Framelits Dies.

  1. Beee-You-ti-Full. I’m not sure what made me do that but, as always, you make every product into a little bit of magic! Plenty of fun and crafting ahead!

  2. Mary, you always knock it out of the park! This is an awesome project, thanks for sharing 🙂

  3. when my son started his first year university I purchased brown paper lunch bags with a Sylvester the cat. There was a spot on the bag where it said, this lunch belongs to______
This stamp set would be perfect for such occasions.

    • I adore the idea of including on a lunch bag (or little love note tucked inside a lunch box)!

  4. You always amaze me! I really like that set but I thought I would not get it because I considered it for kids. You manage to turn it around with such class… It changes my view on it. Congratulation Claire Lapierre from Québec, Canada

    • I can see these stamps and images delighting all ages, Claire. Thanks for your comment.

  5. This truly is a magical card… I adore the Smokey Slate and Pink Pirouette color choice with a touch of Wink. Perfect!

    • Thanks for dropping me a comment, Debi. I love the soft color combination, too. This will be a birthday card for one of my young grand nieces!

  6. A Unicorn and Mermaid in one stamp set with the dies!!!! This needs to come to my house!!!

    • You bet, Angie. Check out the dragon and fire that you can stamp, crop and pop up on Stampin’ Dimensionals! That may be my next horizon!

  7. I was on the fence about this bundle but you convinced me I need it with this post. Hope you don’t mind if I CASE!

    • Thanks, Kadie. No doubt you will add some Fine Tip Glue and take the shine up another notch!

    • Thank you, Su! I layered a bit more than usual (love the soft layer of vellum) but wanted to keep in style with the flirty feel!

  8. Love this design. You have caused me to move this set up in my wish list for January! Thanks for sharing.

  9. Such a beautiful card, Mary, with just the right touch of whimsy! Such a fun layout to show off the gorgeous and fun unicorn.
