This is definitely the year for mixed metals in fashion, home decor and paper crafting.  The combination of silver, copper and even a touch of gold bring a yummy richness to this holiday card.

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • “Season’s Greetings” (Snowflake Sentiments Stamp Set) was heat embossed with Stampin’ Up! Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

  • The stitched oval die cut is from Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  You’ll want to use the Big Shot Magnetic Platform to keep the die in place over the sentiment during it’s journey through the Big Shot.

How to create simple snowflake holiday cards

  • I added a snowflake die cut (Trim Your Stocking Thinlits Dies) from Copper Foil Sheets.  A self-adhesive Gold Faceted Gem bumps up the sparkle factor!
  • A pre-cut silver snowflake from Foil Snowflakes (one of My Favorite Things from the Stampin’ Up! holiday catalog) is layered over a dry embossed snowflake created with the Winter Wonder Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

  • I wrapped Copper Metallic Thread around three of my fingers repeatedly to loop it and adhered to the bottom of the oval sentiment with Glue Dots.

    • Thanks so much, Miss Mary. I really appreciate you stopping by and leaving a kind comment!

  1. This is one of the most Beautiful cards I have see. So clean. May I case this ?

    • Thanks so much, Miss Maggie. I’m nutso about the snowflake embossing and how this all came together!

    • Thanks, Patricia. Copper (and rose gold) are so on trend right now. A luscious warm touch with the other metallics!

  2. Mary – this is the most beautiful Christmas Card I have seen this season! Stunning!

  3. This is absolutely elegant. Very classy and understated glamour. You did a fabulous job mixing the metals with just the right touch.

    • Thank you, Kimberly. I find that “eclectic” can be a challenge for me but this was fun and I like how it turned out. I tend to overthink the eclectic angle and do best when I just start layering until the card says “mama!”

  4. So beautiful, I love the foil snowflakes in the Year of Cheer suite and that snowflake embossing folder is breathtaking. Outstanding job Mary

    • Thanks, Robbye. I love how everything blends together. This same group of supplies could be moved around for an entirely new but cohesive look!

    • You’re a doll, Michelle. So lucky to have you as a member of the Stampin’ Pretty Pals.

  5. Lovely as always! And you made my day with the tip of how to make the gold loops by wrapping around 3 fingers. I am seeing these loops on so many cards and don’t laugh… I must have spent an hour one day making loops and taping and gluing…so using 3 fingers? Who’d have thunk it!
It’s the little tips you give and your One Minute to Wow videos that change my world!!!!???

    • I’m so glad the tip was valuable, Rene. I, too, struggled to get the loops from looking messy vs. eclectic! This works for me!
