I have two grandnephews with birthdays this month and wanted to whip up fun and easy birthday cards to send them.
These bold candles play with the panels for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (MOJO444) and birthday cards.
STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:
- This pattern from Stampin’ Up! Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack was perfect for cropping the candles.
- The Cherry on Top collection has splashy colors as well as versatile patterns. See more close-up views of designer series paper from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.
- The flame is the wing from the Bird Builder Punch. Each flame is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Remembering Your Birthday stamp set has you covered for messages on both the inside and outside of your card.
- I adore the sweet fonts and coordinating messages of Remembering Your Birthday stamp set!
- One of my favorite tricks for protecting cards that are mailed is to emboss a coordinating piece of card stock to cover the front. Here I used Watermelon Wonder card stock and the Stampin’ Up! Chevron Embossing Folder.

Adorable card, Mary! How lucky are you to have TWO new little guys in the family 🙂 I always enjoy your cards, but the last week especially I have enjoyed them all and hope to CASE away for some cards I need to make. So glad you have your Gallery on your blog! Thanks for the inspiration! Have a great day 🙂
Fantastic and FUN card my friend. Who wouldn’t LOVE receiving this special little card for their birthday. (Love the embossing panel of cardstock trick you tuck in the envelope)
What a great tip about the embossed card stock to protect the card. I have done card stock and cardboard but never thought to fancy it up by embossing it! Your card was great and so cheerful!
Perfect card for a little boy, this cards are always great to have on hand, the colors are so cheerful and fun.
Great tip to protect the cards, those embossing folders really provide a good cushion for your card front.
Thank you for sharing, Mary.
Such a cute card, Mary! These colors are perfect and really pop against that Bermuda Back background. Love it!
Mary,I love your fun card today..The colors are so bright and cheery. I also protect my cards to be mailed out with a piece of card stock. I just do not emboss the card stock. That is a great idea. Have a great day. Ellen Hinds
