Many of you inquired about how I created the “inlaid” design with the stem from the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies on yesterday’s card (original post here). I thought it would be easiest to share the details with a 1 Minute to WOW! Video Tutorial that shares the WOW! plus many tips on creating this card.
I changed up the card slightly for the video so you could see the possibilities. I love this Melon Mambo version and hope you do, too!
STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:
- I substituted Melon Mambo card stock for the stem and Melon Mambo ink for the sentiment (Circle of Spring Photopolymer Stamp Set).
- The trio of Melon Mambo It’s My Party Enamel Dots adds a glossy and bold coordinating accent.
- A rich Melon Mambo and Whisper White polka dot pattern (Brights Designer Series Paper Stack) lines my Whisper White Medium Envelope.
- Alternate idea: Layer an additional color in the open area of the leaves!
- Measurements: Perfect Plum Layer: 2 1/8” x 4”, Whisper White Layer below Perfect Plum: 3 1/4” x 4 1/2”, Perfect Plum Mat: 3 1/2” x 4 3/4”, Whisper White Card Base: 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”

Thank you, Mary, for telling me about your newsletter subscription. I did sign up for it and I also loved the video you did with the rose dies. Wonderful!
Thanks so much for your inspiration.
Thank you for showing how to do this card
Thank you for the video, your videos are always the best! I was wondering how you did it. Both color combinations are so fun.Part of my birthday splurge might have to be the Rose Garden bundle so I can try this for myself. Thanks for a great demonstration.
Great color combinations in today’s card. They play very well together!
Thank you very much to the video. This is awesome. You can share your wonderful techniques with us anytime!
Oh, how I love your feedback. Glad the video was helpful1
Totally loved the card when you first showed it. I never would have guessed how to do it. I thought it was coloring with chalk pen or colored pencil like you did on some holiday cards. I need to make a sympathy card so think I’ll use this technique
Gorgeous card… Great video!
Loved the Perfect Plum version from yesterday…….but TOTALLY NUTSO for today’s Melon Mambo version. THANKS for sharing!
Beautiful card. Simple and elegant. Thanks for sharing this technique with us.
Love it!
Mary, You did a great job showing us how to do this technique. I’ve seen others where they glue the pieces back into the design, like a puzzle. This is so much easier. Thanks for sharing.
🙂
Thank you so much for a beautiful card idea. I love it!
What a great technique – simple and yet still elegant. Thank you, Mary.
