I used the pretty pastels of today’s Pals Paper Arts Challenge to create a check pattern for this Watercolor Wishes “hello” card.
This sweet palette was suggested by Michelle Gleeson of the Pals Paper Arts Design Team. Discover what the PPA Design Team members have created here and try this color combination yourself!
STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:
- It’s hip to be square! I used the Stampin’ Up! 1″ Square Punch to pop out perfect squares for my check pattern.
- Layering the pastel squares over Basic Black card stock gives it a modern twist.
- My Very Vanilla note card base measures 5″ x 3 1/2″ and fits neatly inside the Stampin’ Up! Crumb Cake Note Card Envelope.
- The darling daisies were created with the Flower Fair Framelits Dies and inspired by this card by Beth Beard.
- The sentiment is from Watercolor Wishes photopolymer stamp set which is exclusively available as part of the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit (#140406). For $35, the kit offers everything you need to create 20 splashy cards and a stamp set you’ll use over and over. Here’s a Stampin’ Up! video demonstration to tempt you further.

Fantastic Mary! So reminiscent of the color block fashion from the sixties. No one does this style better!
I agree 100% with Brian King! This is fabulous!
Love your take on this challenge…. clean, classy, and colorful!
Mary, love this! I am going to CASE it for a class card. So pretty with the challenge colors, yet simple and beautiful.
Beautiful layout and love your flowers..perfect in white!
Nobody does bold and graphic with a sweet edge like you, Mary! Great card! The white flowers make it perfect.
The colors are so spring like but I truly love the black background with enough white so it doesn’t overpower the colors. Great choice! The flowers are the icing on the cake. Thanks Mary – great card.
FANTASTIC card creation my friend!
Love, love, love your play on the color palette. The colors look so striking against the black card stock. Watercolor Wishes was on my original wish list but I didn’t want the kit. I am still pining for the font of this set.
Unbelievable gorgeous and CLEVER. I love the daisies. This is a beautiful card. I have Watercolor Wishes and have yet to open it. You’ve inspired me once again.
