It’s My Party Washi Tape Birthday Card

stampin up balloon punch birthday card idea mary fish pinterest

I love the contrast of a clean and simple birthday card with a splashy burst of color and pattern.  Stampin’ Up! It’s My Party Designer Washi Tape makes that a snap on today’s 5″ x 5″ square card.

The inspiration for my layout is from this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (MOJO432).

  • Glossy Mint Macaron It’s My Party Enamel Dots are the perfect touch.  Don’t you love how everything coordinates?

  • I created a custom envelope for this 5″ x 5″ square card using a striped pattern from It’s My Party Designer Series Paper Stack and the Stampin’ Up! Envelope Punch Board.  Learn how to use the Envelope Punch Board in my tutorial here.
  • I recommend using Fast Fuse Adhesive when creating custom envelopes.  It has a stronger hold than Snail.  Please be sure to watch this Stampin’ Up! video for helpful tips on using Fast Fuse Adhesive.  There’s a learning curve!
  • Hover and Pin it! Here’s a photo showing key products for today’s card that you can save or pin to Pinterest. See ALL my product photos in one spot on my How to Make Simple Cards board on Pinterest.

  1. Why do I have to download photos now instead of copying them? I save photos for inspiration.

  2. Hi MsMary, I love that card, that’s my next bundle, inspired, love it all !!!
    Hugs Frenchie ,

  3. This card design/layout is so versatile! It also made me take notice of a stamp set that I had passed over! Thanks, Mary!

  4. Mary, what a cute card.. I also like the softness of a clean and simple card with a little color. You always do a great job. Have a great Stamping day. Hugs,Elken Hinds

  5. I love that you extended the banners to be bands. The Washi Tape is perfect for that. Such a fun card with perfect placement of epoxy dots. 🙂

  6. Mary, this Washi Tape is so festive and colorful and it’s a beautiful way to substitute the banners in the Mojo Monday sketch.
Love that the balloon string IS the sentiment, that is really fabulous.
    Thank you for sharing.
