This birthday card is headed to my sweet grandnephew, Devlin. I’m hoping it’s splashy enough to make him smile but plenty “grown up” for a 6th grade boy.
My birthday card incorporates the color combination from this week’s Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge (PPA274). Check out what the rest of the PPA Design Team created with this week’s colors here.
STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:
- The “happy” die cut is from Hello You Thinlits Dies. I adhered it with the Stampin’ Up! Fine-Tip Glue Pen–great for detail work.
- The Crushed Curry stripe is a pattern from Regals Designer Series Paper Stack. The Designer Series Paper Stacks are on the list of My Favorite Things from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.
- A Crushed Curry button with a bit of Linen Thread is the perfect touch. Keep it in place with a Glue Dot.

Hugs Frenchie
Awesome birthday card for a 6th grader or anyone, Mary!
Your comments mean so much! Thanks, Pals!
Simply pretty, Mary!
Just tooooo cute! Love how you did the sentiment….must pin for future CASE….
Mary, this amazing guy card is going directly into my Masculine Cards folder, perfectly design for a young man yet, still fun and bright for any guy of any age.
I struggle to make cards for my grandson, he is 15 so he is beyond little critters, trains and teddy bears. I love the perfectly positioned ”happy” word, it looks like you die cut it on the Tangerine Tango panel and then, paper pieced it with the Chocolate Chip sentiment, just awesome.
Love the perfect contrast of the bright and sunny and fabulous Crushed Curry panel, I think it makes the rest of the elements really shine.
Thanks so much, Maria, for your thoughtful comment! I LOVE that you want to try something like this for your grandson!
Ha ha, we do seem to get very close to the same card every so often, don’t we? I love the big happy on there and that darling button.
He will LOVE it. Thank you.
You should know, Kris. You’re his mommy!
I’m sure Devlin will love this awesome card as much as I do! The stripes make the hello pop!
Crisp and clean like fall! Perfect for a birthday!
Thanks for the kind comments. I love this color combination for fall!
FABULOUOS guy card Mary. And I’m thinking that this 6th grader will real like his birthday card this year.
Clean and simple – classic Mary Fish! Your button is the perfect finishing touch.
