I get together with my neighbors each month for book club. As an English major (the “geek”) and daughter of a librarian, books have always been a passion for me. My college daughter, Caroline, has the same reading “bug” and used to bring home grocery bags full of books from the library as a little girl. There are a few things I’m so proud rubbed off on her–this definitely is one! Mom Power!
Since I hosted book club this month, I whipped up bookmarks (and yummy hot scones) for everyone. If you don’t want to damage the book, a single layer bookmark is best. I purposely put the star (Basics Hodgepodge Clips) near the top so it could peek out above the pages without leaving a dent. I layered Stampin’ Up! Work of Art stamp set in splashy 2014-2016 In Colors (inspired by the Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team) and cropped it with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. So easy and artful!

Love this stamp set and LOVE what you did with it here. thank you for answering my question!
Beautiful Mary! A really perfect gift too. Everyone can use a bookmark. Can’t wait to see the new catalog.
Very clever idea…how fun to have a book club! A friend does a Mystery Book Club monthly – may have to think about doing something like this for her…though she is extremely careful about what she uses….TFS, Mary!
Thanks so much, Debbie. That’s music to my ears.
Amazingly gorgeous as usual!!! You are a true artist.
I used just a tiny bit as adhesive to keep the star anchored. Great question, Darla!
Oooo, pretty , MsMary i have made some for the library lone time ago , I think I need to make more one day ,
Love them,
Tfs,
Hugs frenchie
Mary, You also listed Crystal Effects as one of the products you used. Where did you use it on the bookmarks.
Hi Betty: The book is certainly dark, witty and thought provoking. Toss in strong themes of jealousy, greed and commentary on how far parents will go to “protect” their children. It doesn’t leave you in a happy place but created lively book club discussion! M
The bookmarks are a great idea for book club favors. I may do that too, someday. My book club also read The Dinner. It is dark and quite surprising as the story progresses. I was unable to be at the meeting to discuss the book but, but from what I heard, it generated a lot of questions and comments.
Such beautiful book marks. My crafting sidekick aka my grand niece saw my scalloped tag punch and went ” I want to make book marks”. Great minds I guess
Super cute Mary and you gave me a great idea.
I’m going to make these for my opening staff meeting. I give
my teachers & aides a folder every year with all the pertinent
information for the upcoming school year. What a great way to
start our PSR school year with a cute and inspirational surprise
inside as well! Got to order that stamp set now! Thank you!!!
So cute, Mary. I love that punch and have made some cute things with it. Thanks for sharing, I need to order that stamp set.
Good question, Faye. You are right about the width. I don’t have any left but based on the proportions, I would estimate they are 5 to 5 1/2″ long 🙂
How long is the book mark? The width is 2 inches to fit in the punch.
So cute.
This is fantastic Mary. In Perth Western Australia,it’s Book Week 16-22 August.I will have to try and fit in making some of these!!
WOW!! These are really beautiful and surely fast to make. I love the colors you chose and the little star clip looks just perfect.
Thank you for sharing.
Good catch, Cindy. I made these some time ago and completely forgot I used Gorgeous Grunge stamp set as well (for the Lost Lagoon splotches). I also will be updating the colors. It’s Lost Lagoon not Mossy Meadow and I used Tangelo Twist for the orange. Oye! Thanks! It will be updated on my blog shortly.
These are terrific!
Super cute bookmarks!
Hi Mary, how did you get the Mossy Meadow splotches from this stamp set? These are awesome!
Oh Mary, I love these! How nice. 🙂
