This week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (MOJO 334) is a tall and skinny card. However, I flipped it 90 degrees so I guess it’s better described as a short and wide card!
- My card base is 6 1/2″ x 3 1/2″. Strips of 1″ x 3 1/4″ cardstock in Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Crumb Cake add a colorful background.
- The “Oh, Happy Day!” sentiment from Starburst Sayings stamp set was heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
- Three Bermuda Bay Candy Dots (Brights Candy Dots) punctuate the top right corner. Don’t you love that the Stampin’ Up! Candy Dots come in 40 colors (by color family)?
- I used a Blender Pen and a touch of Pool Party Ink to add color to “Happy!” I left some areas softer than others for visual interest.
- Simplicity rules! I created a custom envelope for a perfect fit using the Stampin’ Up! Envelope Punch Board.

Outstanding!! I am loving your short and wide card : ) and the color combo you used is yummy!
Thanks Mary that will help me in the future. I appreciate your quick response.
Love your horizontal version of the sketch! Great color combo!
Gorgeous!
Well I don’t know about the Tall & Skinny, more like Short & Wide, but love the card! LOL
Lovely! Great color combination and such a pretty envelope!
Mary!
It’s so good to have you back and creating again!!! I adore this card and have always been one of your many, many #1 fans!!
Beautiful card I love it. But, I prefer your old way of giving us the list of supplies used because 1. You listed the product number and 2. Who needs to see a picture of it?
It was easier to make a list of the products without all the photos. Just my opinion. Thanks for all you do. I get wonderful ideas from you. 🙂
Hi Suzy: Thanks for your feedback. I take your suggestions very seriously. I’m trying out this new form of sharing supplies because it’s an easier way to shop and get more details about the products (each item is direct linked to info). In addition, those that are newer to our products, like the photos because they aren’t as familiar with all the tools of the trade 🙂 I update My Sample Gallery (under “tutorials” on my navigation bar above) quite quickly. It has a format with just text which you may find more helpful. Here is an example for today’s card: http://stampinpretty.typepad.com/photos/my_gallery/mojo334.html
Fabulous card, Mary!
Oohh, I love this. That set is a must have!
Ooo, pretty MsMary , love those colors ,
And the Envy is so perfect !!

Hugs frenchie
This is truly an elegant, fun card! I don’t think I’ve ever put those two adjectives together for anything!! 🙂 I love this card for many reasons! One being that I love shades of blue with Crumb Cake CS!! It’s so soft, soothing, and with a touch of elegance with your particular card creation! Love it!
Lovin’ these colors. What a fabulous look with the embossing! Isn’t it great how all the colors match the embellishments!!! So very nicely done! Thanks so much for sharing with us.
Love this card layout. It is nice to have ideas for a different sized card.
This is really pretty! Love the colors and the cool focal images!
Love the short and wide. Very very pretty, Mary.
LOVING your “short and wide” card Mary. The card size and layout/color combination are both on my list for trying out. Thanks for sharing.
Love this card, Mary! Great color combo and beautiful combination of “ingredients”. Really like how you colored in the “Happy”, too.
Oh WOW!! I love the way that sentiment looks embossed in gold. One thing I’ve leaned is that, for solid stamps, your Versamark ink pad must be very, very juicy in order to get a perfect impression like you showed us here, AWESOME!!
Love the elegance and shine the gold embossing adds, Mary! Great paper combination, too. Love it!
