Super, Easy Ghirardelli Treat Holders . . .

Stampin up mary fish pretty order stamp it ghirardellli treat holders angled topper tag punch occasions catalog Isn’t this threesome cutie patootie?  I had a ball making these simple Ghirardelli treat holders.  They are inspired by a Hershey’s nuggets holder in my Stampin’ Success demonstrator magazine.  I simply modified the size for a Ghirardelli square and decorated my way!

  • The bones of this Ghirardelli holder are simply a 5 1/2″ x  2″ (just a smidge under 2″) piece of Whisper White Cardstock.

  • It’s scored at 2 5/8″ and 2 7/8.  Pretty easy so far, right?
  • SNEAK PEEK!  The magic happens when you insert each end (slightly less than 2″ wide for a perfect fit) into the NEW Stampin’ Up! Angled Tag Topper Punch.  It makes perfect cuts for a tag, bookmark and more.  It even pops in the holes that make it ready for the finishing touch of ribbon!  The Angled Tag Topper Punch will be available Jan. 3 when the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog begins.

  • SNEAK PEEK!  I added a piece of Gold Baker’s Twine, threaded through the holes created by the Angled Tag Topper Punch.  The Gold Baker’s Twine will be in the Occasions Catalog and available for purchase Jan. 3

  • I used used a glue dot on each side of the Ghirardelli squares to fold in and adhere the sides of the packaging.  Looks tidier to me that way.

  • SNEAK PEEKS!  Touches of the new Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape (Occasions Catalog) make adding these darling gold patterns a snap.  Two upcoming Occasions Catalog stamp sets were also used, Happy Watercolor (“thank you”) and Perfect Pennants (heart).

I like all three, but the center one with the bling on the heart keeps drawing my eye to it.

  2. Very nice. Great idea. Thanks for sharing

  3. Kathie Krawczyk

HI Mary – they are all very cute. I do like the third one (far right) the best. I think the tilted heart gives it some extra personality.

    Thanks for sharing.

  4. How do I get a catalog?

  5. Love the template! So cute with the washi tape! A classic design for a classic chocolate!

  6. Dear Mary, These little treat holders are so adorable. I love all three, My eyes go to the one in the middle. The heart and the larger rhinestone really pops. I can not wait to order this punch. I think the possibilities are endless. I also love the Washi tape and the gold bakers twine. I agree I think this catalog is going to be very difficult for my credit card. Thank you for sharing. You always come up with the sweetest ideas. Happy Stamping, Ellen Hinds

  7. Hi
I like the middle one the best – the bling really stands out on the heart..sooo cute!

  8. It’s pretty hard to make Ghirardelli chocolate even more appealing, but you definitely succeeded. Gold and white is always nice. These are SO cute! Perfect little Valentine treats.

  9. chick alizadeh

the one with the tilted heart on the far right is my fave too!

  10. Hi Mary, I like the left and middle candy holders best (left, if you REALLY want a fave). The right one with the tipped heart just doesn’t do it for me.
And that is something, because I frequently “tip” things myself. Oh, well! Great idea for a little surprise gift.

  11. It looks like the new Occasions mini is going to be dangerous for my budget! I love the middle one with the embellishment on the heart. I also love the washi tape, the Gold Baker’s twine and the punch. Thanks for the sneak peeks & inspiration!

  12. Adorable!! what a great idea

  13. My favorite is the one on the far right….super cute.

  14. I paper snipped the heart . . . pretty simple. My personal favorite is the center one with the large rhinestone. It has much more bling and pizzazz in real life. Sometimes photos just don’t cut it! Love your comments!

  15. Angela Rambousek

Very pretty treat holders! You always have such great ideas! I like the one on the left, elegant, but with a little bling! Thanks for all the great work that you do!

  16. Very cute! I will have to remember that punch on my next pre-order!

  17. Our church has a large Mother’s Day event each year, and these would be perfect! Every year I incorporate SU ideas on our tables/decorations, and they are always a hit! So, am really anxious to see the tutorial! Thank you! Diana

  18. Carol Carriveau

These are adorable, Mary! My favorite is the middle one with the rhinestone in the heart! TFS…..

  19. Meant to also say the middle one is my fav. That larger gem really stands out.

  20. Mary, these are such classy treat holders!! I love em’. Did you hand cut the heart or is there a coordinating punch??

  21. Oopsy…I meant to say I love both the Washi Tape and the gold Bakers Twine. I was too exited about the 3D project. =)

  22. Ohhhh Mary! I love these treat holders. I love making 3D projects and these are right up my alley. SaWheet!!!! I am soooo lovin’ that Washi Tape and that gold Washi Tape.
I like them all but, my eye keeps going towards the center one with the bigger silver embellishment. Thank you, thank you and thank you for sharing!!!

  23. Adorable. The one of the far right is standing out as my favorite, but love them all!

  24. So cute! I like the one on the left best – artistically off-center.

  25. Jill K. Harris

So pretty and ADORABLE! Thank you for sharing!

  26. These are so cute and since I am still thinking “gifts”, wouldn’t these be cute to make ahead for when I need a quick little gift? I like all the versions, but the last one with the tilted heart is my favorite. It’s like me…a little “off center”!! LOL!

  27. Mary these are darling and a great way to dress up Ghiardelli squares for a festive treat to give away during Christmas. I’m going to whip up a bunch tonight to have on hand. Thanks for sharing.

  28. Stephanie Jager

I like the first one on the left, with the little gems under the “thank you.” Clean and simple design that looks like so much more time consuming than it is. Thanks for the sneak peeks!

  29. Super cute, Mary! Love how you combined new products.

  30. Very cute!! I was on the fence about pre-ordering that but I guess I know where I’m going now, lol!

    My vote – left piece.

  34. I pre-ordered my tag punch and am in LOVE with this product. (One of the perks to being a demo!) The other product I’m diggin’ is the new Washi Tape…..FABULOUS! Love what you created Mary – Thanks for sharing.

  35. My favorite is the first one with the rhinestones on the bottom, although they are all cute. It will be fun to see how our stamping groups will decorate them! Thanks for sharing.

  36. Nancy Farrell

Hi Mary, I like the first one with the four little gems under the word you. I LOVE that heart stamp. 🙂

  37. Hi Mary! These are just darling! I think my favorite is the last one on the right, with the heart a little tipped. These punches are fast becoming one of my faves from the new catalog. Thanks for sharing!!
