My dear, little grandniece, Lily Grace, underwent heart surgery this week. It went well and she’s recovering like a champ (the gusto of a typical toddler). I’m sending her a little gift along with this playful owl card (3 3/4″ square)!

Mary, I’m sorry I missed your original post about little Lily Grace. It is amazing what medical strides have been made over the years. I had open heart surgery in 1960 for several holes between my ventricles from birth. Since then (at age 11) I have been in High School gymnastics, baseball, and basketball, completed a BS and MA, taught school for 23 years, been married for 43 years, have two beautiful daughters, and now 4 beautiful grandchildren. Life is good. Lily Grace has a wonderful life ahead of her!
thank you for sharing about Lily Grace. My niece at 2 yrs old had a similar open heart surgery, and now, at 4 yrs. old she is the strongest, brightest, happiest little girl around.
Hello Mary, Sorry to hear about the news just got the message. Now I see she is doing a lot better. My prays are with her and her family. As I can see she is doing batter and I know in my heart she will be fine. Please keep us posted and hope all goes well.

All the best for wee Lily Grace and urself Mary. I had heart surgery when I was 7yo (1975!!!!)…and I am still going v v strong. Medical science is sincerely marvellous. I have faith in it and all that it achieves…as I am living proof. I became a nurse because of my experience. Lily Grace sounds like an amazing thing….with all the love around her…she cannot help but go fm strength to strength.
