Quick Color Block Video Tutorial

Stampin up elementary elegance big shot bitty box envelope video tutorial
Let’s kick off Thursday with a Stampin’ Pretty 1 Minute to WOW! Video Tutorial!  Today’s video shares a quick and easy color blocking technique used for my bitty box sentiment.

Check out the latest Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge (PPA 126) and PPA Design Team’s beautiful card ideas.  BIG NEWS!  Don’t miss today’s announcement of three exciting new designers on the PPA Design Team for 2012!

BajaNotNavyVanillaThe key to my color blocking technique?  Don’t toss the removable centers of your stamps.  They make versatile stamps, too!  The “stamp” used to color block the sentiment on the box is the “throw away” center of the Elementary Elegance frame stamp (available Jan. 24 as part of the Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration Promotion).

STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:

  • Everything (cards and envies) fits neatly in the bitty box. The belly band on the box slips on and off for easy access to the cards and envelopes.
  • Both the box and envelopes were created with the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine and the Bitty Box & Envelopes Bigz XL Die.  Use the Extended Premium Crease Pad to get clean scores.
  • Stampin up bitty box big shot bigz die envelope occasions mini catalog 2Twitterpated Designer Series Paper (Occasions Mini Catalog) was used to create the envelopes and is NOW available for purchase!  Twitterpated colors include:  Pear Pizzazz, Basic Gray, Island Indigo, Riding Hood Red, Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze, Whisper White.  Click and print my updated Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper color chart.

  1. Hi Charlene: I wanted to confirm for you with Stampin’ Up! YES, the insert piece comes out of the wood mount stamp set versions as well. Good question. Hugs, Mary

  2. How cute is this! I have that die and haven’t used it in so long……… until now! hugs

  3. Love the box, the cards, and the envies! I’ve always wanted this die. You’ve convinced me to add it to my next order! : ) MM

  4. This is just too cute. I love the little cards but the little bitty box is the icing on the cake! I love how you told us about the box top in the video. Those little envelopes are just too cute as well. As far as saving the excess rubber – I always do and use little pieces as a “dimensional.” Boy, living in a Dutch town is really rubbing off on me! Anyway, love your project!

  5. one of the best times of my week….your 1 min. WOW tut….I enjoy them immensley, so Happy N.Y & anxiously awaiting another tutorial!!

  6. Great idea Mary! Just wondering if the insert piece comes out on the wood mount stamps as well. Do you happen to know?

  9. Finally, I think like a Pro! I too saved the center rubber from the Elem Elegance set and mounted it as a stamp! Always love your ideas Mary.

  10. Great tutorial! Makes me wonder how many of those inserts I’ve pitched over the years!

    thank you!

  11. You never cease to amaze me…I love ALL the cards and will be making them. You make it enjoyable for me to stamp b/c things aren’t so ‘too fancy’. Thank you. And congratulations on 3 more added designers, I think that is so exciting for you and for them. LOL

    ~Sandra

  12. Really love the blue cards. I so seldom use blue but after looking at these and the rest of the pals cards–I’m gonna have to pull out my blue card stock.
