I created this card, from concept to completion in "1 1/2 "innings!" Yes, my darling husband, Scott, promised to run errands with me. However, when I told him I was ready, with purse and errand list in hand, he asked me if I could wait "1 1/2 innings" for his televised baseball game to end. After a brief "hrumph" from me, I zipped back to my Ultimate Stampin' Zone and pulled this simple card together. LESSON LEARNED (and, of course, it can vary) 1 1/2 innings translates to about 15 minutes.
STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:
- I'm hooked on the quilling technique I shared recently on my blog. This snail's swirly body was a perfect opportunity. To learn more, watch my Stampin' Pretty Paper Quilling Video Tutorial.
- Early Espresso/White Baker's Twine gives the buttons a clean finish.
- A simple background of 3/4" Circles (Calypso Coral) looks very modern and mirror the shape of the snail's shell.
- Want to dress it up? This color combination looks wonderful with Crumb Cake. Layer it directly to the card base (below the layers) and add a Crumb Cake Envelope.

Oh this is so cute! I love it. Hugs,
this is just too cute!
This card is sooo cute! I love what you have been doing with the quilling. And I all of the cards you have done with the button buddies stamp set are so adorable.
Ha Ha, I can totally relate to this Mary. I have learned NOT to leave my stamp room until my husband is in the car. I wonder how much stamping you can get done in a quarter of football?
Your card is darling. I also love the quilling. I scraplifted the frist quilled card you made onyl I used the Beau Chateau paper and it turned out beautifully. It was so pretty I almost hated to mail it away. I love your idea of using the quilled accent on the button Buddies stamp set. Thanks for the idea!
So adorable with the quilled snail. Love the option of quilling the body as an alternative to using a button or brad. The vanilla & coral are such a great combination, but bet it would look so sharp with crumb cake.
Great idea! I love the quilling on the snail. It is a great art, there is so much you can do with paper. Love it.
Oh, how clever of you Mary to make that little snail! I tried the quilling technique for flowers – just love it!! Love this card, too!
Mary—I LOVE your blog; you dazzle us with your wonderful creations; this card is so different than the rest of which, you’ve posted, in the past; do you ever get tired of paper craft products? (A): I sure hope not!
Ditto on all of the wonderful comments above! 🙂
So cute!! Love the whimsical-ness 🙂
Very cute! (Imagine what you could make during the 7th inning stretch!) 😀
Hoping to get my new DSP packs to help we weather Hurricane Irene. I was crafting during the earthquake. It’s rather hard to cut a straight line when the house is shaking….
Very fun card, Mary. I must watch the paper quilling video. Thanks for sharing your amazing blog with all of us!!! Have yourself a wonderful weekend!
Mary
