PPA104 Clean and Simple Paper Piercing

Stampin up lean on me rubber stamps paper piercing
6a00e54f95df928834014e894bfd50970d-120wi It's not the first time I have made this same mistake.  I started my project for this week's Pals Paper Arts Clean and Simple Challenge (PPA104) determined to use the "Paper Piecing" technique  However, a closer look revealed that the challenge actually was to "Paper Pierce."  Honestly, I hadn't planned on paper piercing the butterfly trail but it was a quick recovery!

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

  • Stampin up lean on me rubber stamps punch paper piercing Stampin' Up! Lean On Me rubber stamps are sweet and simple.  Ideal for a Clean and Simple look.  See all stamp images below.
  • The little dress was stamped on Calypso Coral card stock, cropped with my Paper Snips and pieced over the full image. Do you like the quick pop of color?
  • I used a needle to pierce the little swirly butterfly trail. A Paper Piercing Tool would work, too.  However, I thought the scale was a bit too large for this tiny butterfly. Practice your swirls a bit on a piece of scratch paper until you like the look.
  • Get a faux embossed look:  Doesn't Very Vanilla look beautiful layered over Very Vanilla?

    9. Mary, This is such a cute card. I love the paper piercing on the tail of the butterfly. How sweet. Your card is so simple but very elegant. You are such a talented lady. I love waking up to you and your ideas. Thanks Mary,

    10. I love the “paper piecing” and the “paper piercing”, Mary! So very cute! Great CAS card! Now you’ve made me want this set!

    12. Fabulous card Mary ~ love what you’ve done with this stamp set and now you’ve got me thinking…hmmm, maybe I do NEED this as well. TFS and have a wonderful weekend!

    13. Lovely card! Someone recently told me that in card making it is all about being able to fix your boo-boo’s. While you didn’t really have a boo-boo, your addition of piercing the tail of the butterfly makes the card extra special. I knew I should have ordered this stamp set!

    14. Mary, your layouts are always stellar! Love this one a lot and I’ll case you to create a load of cards to distribute to my Hispanic market with invitations for an all-Spanish stamping event.

    15. Just the sweetest card ever! Piecing and piercing both stole the show on this card….really cute!

    16. LOL, that’s an honest mistake—piecing & piercing! But you managed to combine both beautifully!
