NEW Clear-Mount Guides and Video Tutorial

Stampin up floral fillers rubber stamps clear mount guides tutorial

If you are a clear-mount rubber stamp fan, there are two very cool additions to the Stampin' Up! 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog that may interest you. Today's video tutorial provides a demonstration and tips on the Clear-Mount Perfectly Placed Guides (#121785) and the Clear Block Cleaning Cloth (121779).  I made ten of these 3 x 3 note cards without a "blooper" sentiment in the bunch!

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

  • Keep your clear blocks "cling-friendly" by using Dawn Dish Soap once a month (more often if they have been used a lot).  Removing residue (including Stampin' Mist) is essential in order for clear-mount stamps to adhere properly to the blocks.
  • Lining up stamps relies on good image placement.  See my Clear Block Quick Tips Video
  • The sweet scalloped note cards were created using the Bigz Scallop Squares Duo Die.  Here's a previous video demonstration to show you the simple steps. Bonus . . . they fit in the Stampin' Up! 3/1/8" x 3 1/8" Mini Square Envelopes (107309)
  • Floral Fillers stamp set offers a lovely pattern that coordinates with Stampin' Up! punches.  Both the sentiment and cropped butterfly are from the set.  See all Floral Filler stamp images below.

    10. Terrific tutorial, Mary! Thanks for sharing this great info on using the clear stamps. I’ve had so much trouble getting my SU clear stamps to stick to the block. Now I know what to do!

    11. Thanks for the tutorial Mary. I’m a demo in Canada, ordered the guides and didn’t really have a clue how to use them properly. This was a great help.

    12. Great tutorial as always Mary! Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us. Loved the Thumping of Isabel in the background!

    13. Ooooo! Mine arrive today! Thanks for echoing the lesson I’m trying to get through to my clear mount customers. I keep telling them Stampin’ Mist is not good to leave behind on the blocks and a little dish soap is wunderbar. @Maria, your son is just darling! Love it.

I had ordered them in my last SU order and haven’t gotten around to placing them on all my blocks and now have the knowledge on how to place these onto all of my blocks. YOU ROCK GIRLFRIEND. Thanks for doing this video – sometimes words are the only way to get this old gal to understanding what the message is. Appreciate the time you took to make this video. See you Soon!

    17. I too learned about leaving the stamps, of the Clear Mounts, in their original holders, but, I you have taught me how to secure them to the case for storage. Wow, I didn’t think of that! Thanks Mary, once again you have come through!

    21. Good morning, Mary: I’m a big fan of clear mount stamps. I always choose them instead of wood mount if it’s offered. I haven’t seen those grid guides either so, I’m going to check the catalog again. Thanks for the tip on how to keep the “cling” on the acrylic blocks.
      Maria.
