More Lemon Zest with a Tangerine Tango Twist

Create a simple birthday card with oranges using Stampin Up Lemon Zest - Mary Fish StampinUp Idea

Today, I used the orange slices from the Lemon Zest stamp set for a modern and fresh “happy” card (birthday, thank you, love, friendship).  On yesterday’s post here, I used the lemon and leaves from Lemon Zest stamp set along with the Lemon Builder Punch for a layered, chic style.

STAMPIN’ PRETTY STEP-BY-STEP TUTORIAL:

Create a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card base using Stampin’ Up! Thick Whisper White card stock and a Stampin’ Trimmer (cuts and scores).

Cut a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic Gray card stock and adhere with Snail Adhesive to card base.  Cut a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Smoky Slate card stock and adhere to the Basic Gray layer.

Stamp orange slices from Lemon Zest stamp set in Tangerine Tango ink on Whisper White card stock.  Brush sparkle on tangerine areas using Clear Wink of Stella.

Subtle sparkle from Clear Wink of Stella

Crop orange slices with a Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Magnetic Platform and the 1 5/8″ circle die from Stampin’ Up! Layering Circles Framelits Dies (the 3rd smallest of the circles).  Adhere orange slices as shown, popping the lower right slice up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Crop “happy” using the Happy Birthday Thinlits Die in both Basic Gray card stock and Whisper White card stock.  Use Paper Snips to remove the word “birthday.”

Instant depth!  Use the a tooth pick (or paper piercing tool) and Multipurpose Liquid Glue to dot adhesive on the Whisper White “happy” and adhere to the Basic Gray “happy.”  The Basic Gray adds a shadow and dimension.  I used halves of Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere “happy” to the card base.Create a simple birthday card with orange using Stampin Up Lemon Zest - Mary Fish StampinUp ideas

The “as can be” sentiment was stamped in Basic Gray ink on Whisper White cardstock, snipped and adhered with Snail Adhesive.

A trio of self-adhesive pearls (Pearl Basic Jewels) add instant pop and personality.

Adhere a pretty pattern like this one from Tutti-Frutti 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper to the flap of a Stampin’ Up! Whisper White Medium Envelope.  Carefully snip excess with Paper Snips.
